Please explain why these illegals deserve access and why we as working Americans have to pay for their housing, food, healthcare, etc? I don’t think the President can just “freeze any funds” he wants.

Trump did freeze or cut the funds for the hotels that were putting up illegals in places like NYC at the. Roosevelt. But those funds came from USAID which is within the executive branch.

Things like welfare, Medicaid, EBT/SNAP, etc are all funded by Congress. The President can’t just wave a magic want and stop it.

You may have noticed, if you read sources other than this board which is very light on facts and heavy on melts, that the BBB cuts over a trillion dollars from those exact programs by tightening up the eligibility rules, which probably eliminates a lot of illegals who are on the dole currently.

I bet if you went to ChatGPT or Grok and typed in “will the BBB changes to Medicaid, EBT, SNAP, welfare, etc have an impact on illegals receiving benefits” you would get a concise answer.

I get Congress funds them, but who actually distributes and facilitates the services? The executive branch does this, so why can’t the Trump administration simply just not distribute these funds? What can Congress do about it? What would they do about it?
