I'm fine with this. Man is this generations Denzel and could definitely pull it off. Some idiots are saying there are few black characters in anime, but I know he loves Megalobox and I could see him easily playing Junk Dog with a big arse afro.
That'd be my choice.
ETA: Gearless Joe/Junk Dog/Nomad for reference.

What do you mean?

Well, he puts out consistently good to great movies. He produces. He directs. And he's a handsome black man that can easily move between different cultures. That's what Denzel could do. I don't see anyone else out there that can effectively do that.

I can’t picture Michael B Jordan in a movie like training day. Daniel Kaluuya maybe, but even then he’s not Denzel

Denzel might have been pushing it, but he is the black leading man of his generation. Everyone else is over 50 or John Boyega. Jordan is 38 and consistently makes good career choices.
Anyway, I'd like to see him give something like Megalobox a shot. I know he's a big anime fan, and I think he would at least try to make it good.
ETA: And to be fair, I don't think anyone say Denzel doing training day before he did it...

Daniel Kaluuya has an Oscar and is 36

Denzel had already won a best supporting actor academy award for Glory by the time he was Jordan's age (along with a nomination for Malcolm X and another great performance in Philadelphia). Outside of being a black actor with some charisma Jordan has nothing in common with Denzel.

I think MBJ is a good actor but Denzel is..Denzel.. He's a mononym. He has an argument for one of the best actors ever and is universally beloved.
Wish we got more of Chadwick Boseman.
Daniel Kaluuya is a damn good actor.

Yeah, Boseman had some solid screen presence, definitely wish we got more of him. And Kaluuya is excellent and a far better actor than Jordan.
Jordan is only 13-14 years younger than Mahershala Ali and Idris Elba as well, who are far superior actors.

Black Panther was solid, but he was the worst part of that movie.
Now that's a take most people seem to think MBJ as Killmonger was the best part

I havent seen any of these younger bucks come close to holding the water of morgan freeman or denzel… dont think michael b jordan is it… loved him in creed but that was also a damn fine movie

What movies has he put out that have been great?
The first two Creed movies were great, though not because of him. Fruitvale Station got a lot of acclaim for an indie movie and pushed him and Ryan Coogler into the big time.

The director’s cut is streaming on Max. I didn’t notice what was changed because it had been years since I had watched it last.

This thread never had a shot. OP just blurted that out like everyone would just roll with it.

It makes sense in a "he's a black dude that's a good actor but sorta plays himself in every role" kinda way
