Los Angeles protests spark renewed calls for California independence, but is secession really possible?
quote:
Mass protests in Los Angeles have reignited online calls for California to break away from the United States—an idea that has periodically gained traction in moments of national crisis but has never advanced beyond the fringes.
quote:
The initiative, approved by the California Secretary of State’s Office, must collect over 545,000 valid signatures from registered voters by July 22, 2025, to qualify for the ballot.
quote:
Ultimately, full secession would require a U.S. constitutional amendment, needing approval from two-thirds of Congress and three-fourths of U.S. states—a near-impossible bar in the current political landscape.

>Gain independence
>Get invaded by US
>Become a colony with no voting rights

frick that. California belongs to the citizens of the United States. If that don’t like it they can get they’re belongings and get the frick out. By force if necessary.

But seriously
think if California was cut off from the United States and they started flowing over the border to Portland Denver and Phoenix.
They started taking money on the dole and waving the state of California flag in those three states while rioting in the streets saying that those states were stolen.
How would the country feel about them?

Go ahead.
Keep in mind that US port traffic currently going to SD, LA, and SF can always be rerouted.
In fact, I think a lot already did due to stupid rules passed the dumbass governor.

I wish they would try to secede so we couldn’t invade and take away their congressional representation

This is pretty much what would happen. I got no problem with it, if it comes to it.

I’d love to see it play out this way, but let the inland counties remain as a reconstituted California.

Please, please, please, so I can witness Pelosi shite herself in the public domain before I’m dead.
Her, Schiff, Harris, and the California filth would turn Rino before they would allow that to happen.

Allow California to secede. Northern California breaks off from Southern California and rejoins the U.S. as new 50th state with Republican majority. Amazing deal for America.
