AT&T Internet Service

A few weeks ago AT&T buried cable on my street and in my yard. A young man knocked on my door last week and he was selling their internet service. He said he was an LSU student and working for an AT&T contractor company going door to door. The deal he offered sounded great as compared to Cox who I have now. Over $50 a month cheaper and unlimited data. I would get a $20 month discount for 3 years because I have AT&T cell service. $62 a month for their service. Also a $200 Visa card. The only reason I didn’t do it is because I would have to give him my credit card info and social security number. I can’t give out that info to a stranger who knocks on my door. He sounded legit but I don’t know. Anyone have a similar story or know if it’s legit? He said you could only get this deal through him or one of the other door to door salesmen.

It’s a great tactic and it’s legit.
Full disclosure, I love ATT and have been investing in them since 2021ish

100% fricking scam. I have ATT fiber right after they came through my hood and no social security number (absurd) required and they actually prefer you don't pay with a credit card, the real rep would have pushed autopay through bank draft.

Did he leave a card or flyer? If so, PLEASE post it!

ATT fiber is legit. I have had it for 5 years
Still $55 a month for 500 mb/s
Price has never gone up
Have had only 1-2 outages in 5 years

at&t fiber internet sucks. Never got close to the 1GB they promised.

He's going to sign you up for a higher tier plan than you agree to and then you'll be stuck dealing with a foreign ATT call center to correct it. Then you'll check your bill the following month and see that the bill is still incorrect, then repeat for a couple of months until they finally get it right.

Perpetual outages with ATT fiber. It was horrible. Speeds weren't that great either. Switched to T-Mobile 5G ant it's been great. No issues.

T mobile sucks where I'm at.

Social security number = identity theft.

I only give my social security number out to Indians who text me about suspicious charges on my Apple Pay.

This is a good enough time as any to say frick AT&T.

They must make a pretty good bit of commission on selling internet service because every time I go into an AT&T store they basically mug me with that shite. Basically everyone in the store approaches me about it. Can’t remember the specifics, but they presented with some pretty darn good deals.
I would drop into your favorite AT&T store to check out whether the salesman was legit.

I bet if you pushed hard enough he wouldnt need your ss#. They normally don't it's for credit check, but they can look it up via your name and address. Now the CC# is obviously different.
Att has had multiple breaches where my info is out there, so I'm not s fan of them. Dropped their Internet cause of it. Now I'm in I'll drop there cell service..."someday soon".

Mt ex had a similar deal offered to her from ATT. She went to the ATT store on Coursey Blvd by Jones Creek next to the WalMart Neighborhood Market. I wouldn't trust any door to door salesman.
