Which pitcher passed up the big amount of money to play for LSU? I think I remember hearing he was going very high in the draft, but decided to come to LSU instead.

You can tell Schmidt has the delivery and arm to be really good. The mechanics just have to be cleaned up a little bit.

He’s either on or off, never any in between with him.

Schmidt seems to have the yips. Too many non-competitive pitches. Look forward to seeing him with his control dialed-in.

Schmidt is incapable of pounding the strike zone. He will get better next year, no doubt. But a guy with great stuff who can’t throw it over the plate is a liability.

Think Aaron Nola. That’s who he needs to aim to be.

He's like Kade was his freshman year. They both had issues, Kade went to work in the lab now he's a top 10 pick. Let's see what Schmidt does in the off-season.

Schmidt was projected as a late 1st round pick

Because in HS strikeouts come easy, he's not quite adapted to the college bat.

He's now having to spot his pitches and cant quite do it.

Schmidt makes more NIL than every other freshman pitcher combined and he’s the worst of all of them, by far.

Let's not forget about Devin Sheerin. We should be set up nicely next year in regards to pitching. But to your point, any stud from the portal is welcome!

One played HS baseball in Texas and one played in LA.

The difference in competition is blinding.

He needs Evan’s mentality on the mound.
