That's Babe Laufenberg on the right

He decided he wanted to live past 50. Good for him.

Seems a lot of lineman get in shape when they retire.

Joe Thomas comes to mind
And Jeff Saturday has slimmed down a bit too

That guy lost a whole person.

Linemen either lose a ton of weight and get healthy or blow up to 400 lbs

These before and afters of lineman are always stunning to me. Through the years these guys have been forced to be bigger ans heavier. The smart ones shed that weight while they still can before they end up old and fat with bum knees and no quality of life.

I wouldn’t have recognized him before either

Jordan Gross is another example. Runs marathons or something now

I worked with a couple of former B10 OL and unless they told you they were former players you’d never know.
They just looked like tall fit guys, all the playing era bulk was gone and they each said they had to eat and lift like crazy to stay at their 280-300lb player weights.

To be fair he would’ve been unrecognizable for me even without the ozempic makeover

Step was never a huge guy. He was def on the roids but he played C around 265lbs

NFL OL frames might be taller and larger than the average human by a lot, but fundamentally they’re tremendous athletes who have to force feed themselves to be able to do their jobs to the best of their ability
While they may be less active in retirement, simultaneously they aren’t being told by everyone in their orbit as a player to keep eating like a fat frick

Manufacturing unnatural Sumo weight (as most lineman do) for 20 years can't be healthy.
The days of "naturally big and fat but athletic" left with Art Donovan.... An offensive lineman called Fatso because he weighed 260lbs at 6'2".
So many manufactured force-fed goose bellies and PEDs on the Line in the NFL....its not surprising when they retire, they return to eating normal and they shrink to normal human beings.
