So much attitude. So much cheese. So much greatness.

I hadn't seen it in about 5 years and gave it another watch before it left Prime Video today. Just a lot of fun. Much credit to the director Peter Berg.

Apprently old Navy people like it because they went really accurate on the Battleship aspect and brought in advisors from real battleships and the US Navy let them use ships.
The opposite of Crimson Tide.

I was on board Until they got a world war II era mothballed battleship ready to shove off in an hour.

It's like Pacific Rim

It was one of the greatest dumb movies ever made.

OR

It's one of the dumbest great movies ever made.

Cranking up the USS Missouri with Thunderstruck cranking in the background is one of the best scenes in cinematic history

I like how a whole crew of old arse Navy vets just happened to be hanging out on the battleship ready to shove off to fight the aliens.

The scene gives me goosebumps every time but I absolutely love old battleships.

How accurate was the "touchscreen" gun aiming mechanism that Rihanna was using on the Missouri?

Yeah after getting the first viewing out of the way, the movie becomes so much better every viewing after that.

Yep, that was a bridge too far. If they had maybe added a few lines, or a scene, where there had been some retro work done that could at least help explain .. nope. Just old dudes rolling up their sleeves and getting the old girl back in the fight.

Still, great reason to drop in an AC/DC montage.
