Trusted mechanic for 1979 Trans Am in Baton Rouge area?

I have a 1979 Firebird Trans Am (6.6L, 400 ci engine, 4 speed; yes - it's black with t-tops!) that I can't get to start. I'm pretty sure it is a distributor issue. Does anyone have rec's for a trusted mechanic in the Baton Rouge area? I'm guessing it's too optimistic to find one that does mobile work....?

Borg Warner T-10 4 speed. Yes - WS6 performance package / Y84 SE package. Only 1 of 1,107 originally built.
It has a strong crank - it just won't start. I have checked the battery, plugs. I have replaced the ignition module and coil. I have wondered if it is the small cylinder shaped capacitor near the module (shaped like a CR2 battery), but this is starting to get outside of my skill set....

Do you have spark?

Pull your fuel pump relay. Pull the coil wire off the distributor and stick a screwdriver in it. Lay the screwdriver so that the metal is a half inch or so within a bolt on your motor. Have someone crank it, if it arcs to the bolt everything before your distributor is hot. Plug the coil wite back in the distributor and pull and spark plug wire off of one of your plugs and do the same thing. If no arc, it’s your distributor.
ETA: my brain went autopilot, but in ‘79 you probably had a mechanical fuel pump. So disregard the relay part.

It's either air, fuel, or spark.

Let me tell you what Melba Toast is packing here, all right. We got 4:11 Positrac outback, 750 double pumper, Edelbrock intake, bored over 30, 11 to 1 pop-up pistons, turbo jet 390 horsepower. We're talkin' some fu*kin' muscle.

This is a good friend of mine. Most mechanics in BTR will recommend him.
You’d have to get it to his shop. He may know of a mobile guy. Good luck.

Not much on the older cars he doesn’t know about.
Use to do all the work on all my cars.
If anyone is ever in need of good cams, this is one of my relatives.

AGCO Automotive on Coursey. Both Brian and Josh do great work with older vehicles.

Check your fuses. I had the same think happen to my Chevelle. Changed out everything then looked at the fuses and the ignition fuse was blown

Friend of mine had a beautiful brown 6.6 TA. Sold it to another local who was cruising rapidly one night when he encountered a horse in the highway. Horse and driver and car were completely destroyed.

Simple test:
Pull the air filter. Spray starter fluid into carb throat while someone turns key/cranks. If it fires, you have a fuel problem. If it doesn't fire, you have a spark problem. Troubleshooting with that info in hand is much easier.
