I say no. They may not be nfl caliber but they are still grown men playing football professionally who were all good in college. Every college team is going to have a few players that will never sniff a professional roster.

I'd put money on 2019 LSU to get the job done

College team could have a big advantage at skill positions but probably overmatched in the trenches.

Maybe not one individual CFB team but the best CFB players in a season, together, could beat the best of the UFL, imo.

Without a doubt, IMO.

2011 LSU vs Bama - NFL Players

The best of the best college teams will have more NFL-caliber players than a UFL team.

The postseason awards that year and the following NFL draft disagree.

Yes, UFL is far worse quality than the NFL.. Far, far worse. Lines they may have a slight advantage, but a a GREAT college team with elite QB could win.

I would imagine that coaching and cohesion is much better for the elite college teams, which could be a big factor.

But really that article is saying LSU/Bama is second best

OSU/Miami is the GOAT talent on the field ever

quote:

Still, the Alabama-LSU games will fall short to the ultimate title game filled with NFL talent: Ohio State-Miami at the Fiesta Bowl for the 2003 BCS Championship, which closed the 2002 season. On that night at Sun Devil Stadium, 52 future NFL draft picks saw the field, 37 of which were starters. Plus, 18 players from that game went in the first round.

What's so special about a UFL team?

They're pros.

Remember when it was claimed NFL strength training took players from college players in January to superhuman pros in September?

I would say yes.

Elite college teams will definitely have an advantage at skill positions, the rest would probably be split on what team has advantages at certain positions. There's going to be some guys on an elite college team's 2 deep chart that won't ever make it professionally, but there's also going to be several who are NFL ready and possible starters as rookies.

But the biggest advantage is that the best college teams are usually led by an elite QB that's about to be a top 5-10 NFL draft pick and will likely be starting in the NFL the following year, while the UFL team has a QB that wasn't good enough to be a 3rd stringer on an NFL roster. QB play wins games.

I think he means the best in any given year, not all time.

Also, even if a college pro team is stacked with pros, a 21-year old lineman probably hasn’t fully developed strength wise yet.
