Minneapolis or Buffalo?

My group of friends has a guy's weekend each fall centered around a football game. This year we have narrowed it down to two games of interest in September:
Cincinnati at Minnesota
Saints @ Buffalo
Which to choose? Anything cool to do in either place?

Late September should be good fall weather in Buffalo

Niagara Falls is 20 minutes away

I skipped the whole damn paragraph. That is horrible. If you do MSP you can also catch a twins game because they are at home against the Gaurdians. I enjoy MSP. Fun nightlife.

Buffalo isn’t a great city. But for a guys weekend in September is pretty damn solid
Great weather, great football tailgate scene for pro ball, wings, and solid golf in area as well
If you end up picking Buffalo I’ll give tons of recs
I think Minneapolis is def a better city but for a guys trip I think Buffalo wins this

Hey, you'll be the only person that said they went to Buffalo voluntarily.

Do you guys cheer for any of the 4? If so, go there. If not, I’d go to Minneapolis. It’s one of the best stadiums in the world.

Yes. Most of the group are Saints/LSU fans. The draw of MN is the stadium and the chance to watch Burrow, Chase, and Jefferson. Buffalo draw is the Saints and Niagra Falls. I would think Minneapolis would have a better downtown/restaurant scene, but not sure what else there is. Kinda leaning Buffalo because I can't think of another time where I'd be up that way to see Niagra Falls

My brother and his family went to the Packers/Vikings game in MSP a few years ago and said the stadium was impressive but the pregame scene was lacking. No real centralized parking lot or bar area where the "scene" was. In September I feel like there's more to do and see in the Buffalo area and that would be my choice.

Minneapolis, without question. Much better scene for a group of guys looking for a fun weekend. In addition to the Vikings game on Sunday, Twins have a homestand that weekend. Target Field is in North Loop, which is a neighborhood of endless food/drinking options, from breweries, to cocktail bars, to nicer restaurants, to food halls. If you really want to get in the college scene, take the light rail over to Dinkytown + walk over to Surly Brewing, O'Shaughnessy Distilling, and The Market. Food scene around Minneapolis is very underrated, too - there are a number of restaurants and chefs with James Beard awards and finalists to their name. Ton of breweries and cocktail bars in North Loop, and Northeast is chalked with breweries, as well. Not sure how recreation fits into your schedule, if at all, but Minneapolis has no shortage of lakes and trails.
I'm up in MPLS pretty frequently visiting college buddies. Will be heading up for Twins/Brewers in a few weeks. Can't wait
ETA: Just saw a subsequent post of yours about Niagara Falls... If that is a must, then Buffalo is your simple answer
Otherwise, run with MPLS.

Buffalo area (Amherst, finger lakes, etc) has a fantastic brewery scene. Can also play 3-4 public golf courses in the area for under $100 that blows Louisiana country clubs out the water
Minneapolis is a far better city. For a guys trip football weekend I think Buffalo is a better trip

We are doing Buffalo. The Saturday before the game is a big Octoberfest there so a lot going on that day to fill the day.

Honeslty both towns really suck for a trip like this. Why not a three day weekend in NOLA and watch from a fun bar?

Buffalo is PERFECT for a trip like this. Any other way doesn’t make sense to really go there honestly besides one day to Niagara.
Minneapolis is also solid as hell

Man I've been to both plenty and there is just about zero reason to go to either. Minneapolis is a liberal dumpster fire but without the soul or interest of Chicago or New Orleans. It's like one bigass suburb full of people that disagree with me. And it's cold AF half the year. There is very little interesting food, not much for music. Plenty of more interesting golf elsewhere.
Then you have Buffalo. With the exception of some tremendous restored Frank Lloyd Wright houses, this town had the air go out of the baloon around 1905 and never bounced back. There is a couple good diners and a really good pizza joint in the hood called Carbones, so the food scene is a C+ instead of the D- of Minnie. The falls is interesting for a few hours.
When I have to visit either city for business I quickly head upstate if I have a day to kill between meetings.
Cities I would rather visit for an NFL game: Chicago, NOLA, Seattle, Dallas, LA, New York, Cinci, Denver, Philly, Charlotte, Detroit, KC, Miami, Houston
