Don't American car lots do this?

I bought my '08 sedona in May of '09. New. Undriven.

It was classified as a "used car" for purposes of my car note.

It seems you're struggling with deciding the proper board for posting your many threads. You've already had one moved this morning.

the twitter embed feature was the worst idea the owners of this site have ever implemented

If a dealership goes out of business and the cars on the lot are sold off to another dealer, they have to be listed as used because they were already sold once. Mileage has nothing to do with used or not used.

We need a polling feature.

I think this can only be done when an insurance claim has been made on a car that was sitting on the lot. It hasn't been driven but since there was an insurance incident it can't be sold as new. Hail damage is very common for this.

Aren't used car interest rates higher than new cars?

I'm in SC... there was zero damage to van.. I was under the understanding back then (2009) that is was more of a "washing" their lot... setting aside new, prior year vehicles in a special way to make room for new vehicles and promotions. But- other than I can attest no damage- I'm just really not sure how that worked.

It pissed me off because "used car" financing was more expensive than "new car" financing.

YES!! I went through the whole daggum rigamirole... alone and 8mo pregnant, just to get to the last couple of papers to sign that were NOT the expected new car loan rates.

It was South Carolina hot, I was massively pregnant, my husband was all the way in freakin Canada... so I snarled and signed.

You sure that's accurate? I thought new car title usally stayed in the manufacturer's name until an end-user customer buys it from dealership. Once the title changes to the customer, it then becomes a used car.

I'm not sure, but I think it's any type of service record. I bought a new vehicle at a discount because it had 800 miles on it. They used it as a loaner, but it wasn't used like the others that were sold as used because they had to do an oil change on it before it was sold. Something like that.
