For a single 40 yr old man. Not looking to go clubbing or casinos, maybe just a place to get a drink and have some fun, possibly listen to some live music. Which do y’all prefer?

Not Bay St Louis, Pass Christian, or Ocean Springs. They suck if you are single and by yourself and aren't planning on going to the casinos/clubs.

But if you are dead set on those three, then I guess Pass Christian. And maybe go to the Whiskey Bar. If you like cigars then Pass Cigars isn't bad there.

Bay St. Louis.

Everything you are asking for-- drink/food, live music, fun-- is concentrated there in one area around the intersection of Main Street and Beach Blvd. Very walkable. Bonus is that it is on/overlooking the marina, the Bay and part of the Sound.

Ocean Springs is quaint like Bay St. Louis with a nice little "downtown", but it is not on the water. Biloxi has a few places on the water, but is too spread-out/casino-centric .

BSL checks all the boxes…just gotta find a place to stay. Bay Town Inn is probably the most reasonable (not saying much) unless you can find a tiny Airbnb.

hijack: Does anyone spend the weekend at any of those places? Been considering getting a place that I can AirBnb and considering those areas due to location convenience.

Is it generally “cooler” on the gulf coast? Was thinking about taking my motorcycle but the high is like 87.

My SO and I stayed at an Airbnb on Bowen St. in OS several years ago, and I was surprised that there is a pretty active nightlife scene there on Government St. Felt like I was on a miniature version of Bourbon St. The strip is not long, but there was a good crowd the weekend we stayed. Lots of young people bar-hopping up and down the street, live music, people celebrating birthdays and such. Between the three towns you mentioned (we visit all of them regularly) this is the one I would recommend for a male - or female - singleton.

It is in general; its location next to the beach/sound means the weather is tempered by the water, and in the summer afternoons you typically get an onshore breeze which feels cooler. There is certainly a difference on the shoreline areas and inland areas around the gulf coast.

Problem is, during the summer you don't have to go very far inland to get back to that muggy Southern summer heat. As soon as you are blocked off from the breezes by trees and buildings, you can feel it.

Here is a "feels like" map from this morning. Notice Gulfport is at 89, Grand Isle at 83, but inland places are mostly in the 90s and even up to 100 in Gonzales...

Out of those three I would take Bay St. Louis.

There a lot of former AirBnBs are for sale in BSL, mainly the ones that got in with high interest rates. Tough to turn a profit for those folks, and the market here is flooded with BnBs now.

Waveland market may be worth looking into for cost purposes. You can get close enough to BSL where you can take a golf cart down to the aciton

And there is certainly a smaller BnB market in the Pass and OS. If you are ranking the three mentioned in the OP strictly on things to do, 1. BSL 2. OS 3. PC

If you want drinks and live music go to the round bar right by the entrance to the Beau Rivage casino.

Is this inside the Beau, or across the street or something?

Apparently my img link is to something that is constantly being updated. Right now it is showing Gulfport at 105.
