Depending on the offensive line-up of LR (Lefty vs Righty) will determine if it is Kade or Eyanson.

Ok. Since you know the plan, who will it be? We already know the lineup.

Well look at their lineup and tell us who’s starting!

My conspiracy theory is that CJJ is just giving other teams something to think about. Anderson has been our Friday night guy all year and if I had to bet money right now that’s who I would bet starts.

But between now and Friday the other teams in our regional are doing some self scouting and trying to think like Jay not knowing who they will face. Every advantage matters

I 100% agree. Now the opposing coaches are probably smart enough to think the same thing as you and I, but still I get why he’s giving them something to think about.

DBU has a harder time against leftys so I think AE starts game 1. This is the flexibility we got from throwing both against aggy. Jay knows what hes doing.

So could y’all see us start one of the top 2 but we jump out in Little Rock early and pull them after 1-2 innings so we can use them later in the weekend if necessary?

I do not think CJJ would throw our Fri/Sat guys more than once in a weekend unless it is in Omaha.

Think we are better served starting Evans and keeping AE/KA for the second and third games.

But I am not the coach.

How. You know we won't score enough until the 5th or 6 inning. Our hitters just try for the fences too much instead of adjusting their approach due to e.ach situation. I think that is on our coaches. These are just kids

He literally did this less than a year ago in Chapel Hill.

That will really mess up your starting pitching for a super regional and that will be the reason he does not do that. There is a chance of having a Thursday-Saturday super regional and if you hold both of them back then that would put them with 2 days short of rest.

Absolutely not. You do that and then they are really off schedule for the super. Zero chance that happens.

I don’t follow this board as much as I used to, but the number of times I’ve read this wildly inaccurate factoid over the past week is incredibly embarrassing.

Especially since Chicken posted the SR schedule in the first post on the stickied thread. Thursday super regional starts have never been a thing since the format was changed

Ah, the annual "who's starting? LSU should save their ace" debate. Always the traditional "We have nothing to talk about for a week" thread.

We, the fans, can analyze it all we want, but Johnson has seemed to show he's going with his No.1 guy in game 1, regardless of the opponent. Two years ago LSU was matched up with an awful Tulane team. A team that literally had the worst record of any team in the tournament. Johnson had the ultimate ace in Skenes. For a week 90% of the folks on here said Johnson should/would save Skenes for game 2. The Friday came and Skenes was the SP.

Except for the SC series where Jay didn't want to throw Anderson on short rest, Anderson has been the game 1 starter. It's hard to see Jay changing that now. Plus, regional game 1's have been no cakewalk for LSU.

In 2022 LSU was down 11-4 heading into the 8th.
In 2023 Tulane hung relatively close for the majority of the game
In 2024 LSU was down 3-0 vs. Wofford's number 2 starter.

UALR blows. On paper, this should be an LSU blowout by the mid-innings. But given Jay's past regional game 1's AND the fact LSU isn't exactly hitting well right now, I don't think he takes any chances by looking ahead to Game 2. He's going to ensure he has the best chance to win game 1. That's by throwing Anderson.

Ah well. I'll take my L on that one. Not sure why I thought that was a thing.

It’ll be Anderson and hopefully we run away with it early so we can take him out by the 5th/6th inning

Probably because rantards have been repeating it over and over here the last few days.

Thanks for the preseason scrimmage stat compilations baw.

I’d honestly rather him and eyanson go 7-8 and save as many bullpen arms as possible for games 3-4
