I think this guy could be for Democrats what Trump was for Republicans. He's not a DC insider and he's not going to "do what he's told". He would bring a refreshing take to the party and would be popular because he would stand up to the establishment and say what's on his mind.
He is left-of-center, but he's not woke and he doesn't want open borders. He supports DOGE (conceptually, at least) and hates the establishment. He wants to take the Democrat party back to traditional Democrat values of freedom of speech and supporting the working man. He is somebody that the moderate Democrat voters could support and the far leftists would be afraid not to support. Kind of like Trump is for the republicans.
I think this guy could be a force if he can get some traction and doesn't screw things up early on.
I wouldn't vote for him, because there are too many issues I don't trust him on, but unless he proves differently, I can trust him at the wheel 100% more than the likes of AOC, Kamala, Walz, Newsom, etc...

If you want to see Secretary of State Cedric the Entertainer, then Smith is the guy.
The man's convictions change as the wind blows. He would be devoured in DC.

I wouldn't underestimate him. The Democrats just spent 4 years with mush brain in office. Stephen A would definitely do better than that. He can sell it. Especially as someone who is going to stand up against wokeism. The left can't question his views on being woke/not woke because he is black.
People said DC would devour Trump. How'd that work out for them? Going after a black man because he's not woke (especially one as outspoken as Stephen A) would not work for them.

This quote writes its own jokes
Trump is a moral and position weather vane.
With multiple convictions and settlements for fraud.

This right here is why he won’t be president. The Dems will never let an outsider be their leader.

Just because he’s more likeable and relatable doesn’t mean he’s any better. He would be a complete disaster with no clue how to run this country.

Well i don't trust aoc, Kamala or their ilk at all.
So one could certainly say i trust him 500 percent more.
Let's see, 5x0 is...0.
Well that sounds about right.
I don't trust any democrat. I don't trust any republican for that matter. One could day i don't trust any politician.

If you really think he won’t do what the majority of progressive blacks push him to do… You’ve obviously never been around politics.
Plus, don’t forget that blacks only make it up about 13% of the United States population… Middle of the road pasty white folks who vote D 50% of the time are not voting for him… So I really hope they do nominate him actually

He comes across as a sad and self-counsious little narcissist, with the latest example being how ESPN has him standing closest to the camera so he doesn't look like such a little weenie standing beside Perkins and the Golden State guy with the ears.

What has he ever done to suggest he can be the CHIEF EXECUTIVE of the country? Trump ran a multimillion dollar corporation; Smith is a talking head. GTFOOH with this bullshite.

The DNC doesn't like outsiders. They especially don't like black folk that don't fall in line. In short, they would kill him.

He's experienced in dealing with woke Disney/ABXi/ESPN.
He has absolutely no clue how quickly the DC Establishment would climb inside him, rearranged him and leave him completely broken within days.
In all honesty, he would be a worse presidential candidate than even Harris was. At least Harris had four years in DC to participate in the corruption and understand how deep and all-coneuming it is. She's a dumbass but she knows the game.
Even Trump, in his first term, was clueless as to how widespread the corruption is. Being wiser now in his second term, he has still been rendered largely ineffectual by inside corruption, activist judges overstepping their authority, the controlled opposition GOPe wing of Congress, and three letter agencies that have grown too large and corrupt to actually fix.
That said, there is a swath of (D) voters that would support him anyway, but it's not going to be SAS. They're saying the quiet part out loud when people like Jasmine Crockett suggest they need a "safe white-boy" to lead the ticket. It's going to be Gavin

His cabinet would look like a NBA locker room.

The DNC is in shambles. A small percentage of woke radicals are holding the party hostage. If Stephen A were white, they would just call him a racist and flush him.
They can't do that, because a) he's black, and b) he would come back swinging if they impune his character and accuse THEM of racism.
He has the same appeal Trump did. He doesn't act like a politician, he doesn't talk like a politician, and he's not afraid to say things that other people won't talk about.
When he faces a primary field of 15 generic Democrat politicians, he's the one who will stand out, and he's the one the media will be talking about - just like Trump.
Nobody thought DJT had a snowball's chance in hell to win when he came down that elevator in 2015. It was just a publicity stunt.
