Thats California, we all know how fricked up that State is.

A few cases doesnt equal a profession.

Police seem plentiful (I know they claim to be in dire straights, but see plenty sitting around doing very little, usually in groups) and they don’t seem to reduce the crime much.

I think they are paid appropriately in most cases based on need and effectiveness.

Where I live the majority of Cops make over 100k, and start at 70-80k.
You do know these salaries are public record, it's not like people are just making up these numbers

Most stats published don’t include OT or “other pay” such as working private events etc.

Is this a “cop problem” or an “out-of-control taxation and waste problem” in a specific state?

Colion Noir did a video on how officials charged with solving homelessness in SF were making over a quarter million a year.

I have been on record for years on here saying they are overpaid. You start off kind of low, but if you stick around you move up quick!

Cops in any major city or suburb in this country are making 100k on average
And that doesn't even count the insane retirement packages.
I know a retired cop that said most female cops only last a few years and get early retirement by claiming Trauma/PTSD.
The only place cops aren't making 100k are in rural backwater towns.

One guy ?
Yeah, because all of the other Cops in California are on a different pay scale and only make 40k a year.

The cops don’t reduce crime, the courts are supposed to do that. But in a lot of states not just CA they don’t enforce laws anymore. Just let them all go to do what they want.

I’ve posted many times before that the dirty little secret of BRPD pay isn’t that crazy amounts of OT are paid out every year. Anyone paying attention knows that. The dirty little secret is that who gets the option of working OT is basically 100% seniority based. It’s considered a job perk.

We could hire a ton of new officers if we cut OT and bumped the rookie base pay. However, toss that out to the old guard and you’ll hear crickets.
