Now he’s not suffering from Alzheimer's. RIP Phil. Shoot lots of ducks upstairs.

Just saw this.

I had the honor of meeting him many years ago at a DU event. This was back when you went to block buster to rent their vhs tapes.

RIP

Never met the man but from what I saw on tv, I do not trust him or his sons. I heard a man say, “if a man tells you how honest he is, count your silverware when he leaves your house”.

They play it up too good.

I met him years ago before he became famous, pedaling his Duck Commander calls @ Parrino’s Sporting Goods in Bunkie. Was certainly his own man, and a very interesting character…

Met him a couple times at outdoor shows and had him sign a few things. Learned how to call a duck from watching “The art of commanding ducks” as a kid.
Sad to hear of the news, but that man is talking ducks with the big guy now.

Rip Phil

Phil Robertson was American success story. One paved by perseverance, hard times, ingenuity and a love of God.

I first met him in the late 80’s, and by 1992 I was running camera for him. After I moved on with my career, we will still work together from time to time. I would see him at trade shows where he always took time to speak and visit with me.

When fame came calling it became harder to reach him, but that was okay. He deserved it.

He was one of the single most intelligent men I ever knew, capable of talking about politics, religion, science, astronomy, and just about any topic that would come up.

I’m richer for having known him. Go rest high, DC.

You could not be more wrong in your assumption! You said you never met him, you would have a different opinion if you did. He was the most real a d genuine person you could ever know.

Never met Phil but did have the pleasure of talking to Kay on the phone. She’s the same person you see on tv.

Not going to say anything about his character because I don't know any reason to doubt it. But I could not stand to listen to him talk on camera. Wasn't what he said it was just his delivery. Not sure if its something he developed for TV or he'd been like that his whole life.

Maybe reminded me of black/southern preachers who like to make everything they say sound like some profound statement.

anyway, RIP.

In today’s world, it’s not wrong to be cynical about a lot of things. And your statement isn’t untrue. But, where I think you miss the mark here isn’t with Phil talking about how honest he is, because I don’t think I ever heard him or his kids say that.
They would tell you they are sinners.

But, listen to what people who knew him and know them. They’re the people that tell you how great of a man he was. That family never said they were great or honest.

Here's another I met Phil story. On the way home from working on a pipeline in Turkey 2005, Houston airport, headed to Monroe. There was Phil and his two boys, sitting alone at our gate. I knew him from DU Banquet and Beouf WMA 1990's, so I plopped down with them. While we chatted, an announcement informed our flight has been switched to another terminal. Not a different gate, a different terminal. I told them let's head to the tram. When we got to our destination, the PA announced prepare for sudden stop. One of the boys stuck his arms straight out and the force from the stop pushed the back glass out of the tram. Phil, with his monotone delivery, states "son, you done tore up the train." I was crying, as it was only plexiglass and the other people were freaking out.

Got to meet Phil once at Hollis' Seafood in Spearsville. This was before the Duck Dynasty days. 1000% as advertised.
I have had the chance to meet and worship with Jace and Missy.
I can tell you that if you doubt the Robertson family you are dead wrong. They live their faith 24/7. It isn't an act. Good people

The world lost a good man with a heart for The Almighty. Heaven gained a Saint!
I can't imagine the number of people he led to Christ but I bet it's impressive.

RIP Brother Phil!
