I like to spend time out in my yard mowing and trimming to make sure I have a great looking lawn. I recently started making a second pass over with a reel( my wife calls it a flintstone mower) mower to give it a cleaner look. My neighbor also cuts his on a regular cadence, but might weed eat once a month. To each his own I guess, but it’s gotten to the point that his grass is growing through my fence.
I’ve asked if he wanted me to catch along the fence, but he said that he would get it.

I’m thinking either just doing it anyway, or spray round up through the fence and be done with it for a couple months.

Live in a very nice subdivision but he’s just renting the house.

I’d just cut it myself.

HOA will only send someone to cut the front if you request it. Back yard is yours to maintain

Please don’t do this. Roundup is strong and the dead area spreads to a larger area than the spot your concerned with.

And guess what? After the grass dies, weeds pop up! Law of unintended consequences!

How do I know? Because the city sprays roundup at a lift station, and it’s killed my grass at the property line.

If you pulled off something like that in my trailer park you would find the nuckle side of a nuckle sandwich across your face. Be decent to other people and they will be decent to you, but dont destroy there propirty just because it doesnt looks like yours!

If taking pride in making sure the exterior of my home looks nice is boring, then count me in.
It’s just having pride in ownership and a reinvestment to resell in a few when the kids are gone.

I would say that you are the person that is different. If it bothers you that much, just start weedeating it yourself. I’m not sure how he could complain about that. I’m sure when you offered, he figured you were just calling him out, not that you really wanted to do it.

Renters moved into the house next door this past winter. They haven’t mowed their grass yet this year.

Had HOA send them multiple letters, but the HOA said it’s not worth the funds to go any further.

Your neighbors weeds sticking through your fence isn't going to decrease your property value

Do you realize how OCD and consequently anxious this makes you sound? Your neighbor isn't the problem, you are.
