Explain to me the difference. Because both from the outset smell of money exchanging hands for access to POTUS.

Both are bothersome. Just my opinion.

Our guy is doing it.

Ask TDTOM how this Makes America Great Again. Apparently, ignoring hypocrisy is a core requirement to prove you're MAGA.

The best I can come up with is that Trump wouldn't have had to spend all that money on legal defense fees if he hadn't been President...therefore, maybe this grift is justified???

Does this cryptocurrency dinner count as a side-gig?

Last I remember everyone here accused government workers of having side gigs while they worked from home.

If they did, I don't see this as any different. Either way, I have no issue with it whether it's Trump or other govt. workers as long as it doesn't interfere with his or their day job (POTUS).

Sure, there's a ton of hypocrisy with MAGA but no one can convince me that any identification with any other group doesn't bring hypocrisy as well. Even those with nuanced opinions/preferences like myself can be hypocrites.

Can you explain this crypto dinner? Was it a fundraiser or was trump selling something?

Good point about all of us being prone to hypocrisy. It's the failure to admit the hypocrisy that's annoying.

Sorry. Many of us are basically numb to hypocrisy after Trumps sham first term Impeachment while Biden was on video admitting to doing the very thing Trump was accused of.

Also the “25th amendment” was chanted by the left during Trumps first term but never uttered during Biden’s.

And our notes had Hunter’s art sales as a huge flag because of the microscope Trump’s kids were under his first term.

I guess our notes changed again when it was perfectly fine for Hunter to sell garbage art for millions.

Do we need to update our notes again? Is it microscope time again? Or still cool with it time?

Scale

Neither are acceptable, but both are not nearly on the same scale

Neither is a good look or should be allowed in my opinion.

On the surface though Trump's was more brazen he is an elected official while hunter isn't but was potentially peddling influence for one.

Did anybody on this Board justify Hunter's grift? One of the things I thought separated the Right from the Left was the Right's ability to deal with the facts.

Other than its comparatively massive scale, Trump's meme coin is no different from Hunter's "art sales." It would be a breath of fresh air just to have people admit that.

One is already wealthy and donates his salary. The other is a crackhead making money for his family and his crack addiction.

So it's the PERSON that defines whether the act is good or not? I think that's the disconnect between Christians and Trump worshipers.
