Top 3 or top 8, literally does not matter. The rest of this weekend is lagniappe. Let’s see if we can get an arm or two to step up.

Eh, from a scheduling and home game standpoint that’s right, but no doubt the higher seed the slightly easier road to Omaha

I keep seeing people asking about getting the #1 or will we move up to this or that spot?

Why do yall think it matters? I’m legitimately curious.

All I care about is not having another SEC team paired up with us if we make it to the Super Regional.

Any other team will shite their pants walking into The Box.

And if we get a three seed, how does that help us?

Brace yourself, we be in it to win it. However, our work is done until the NCAA.

Enjoy!

in theory, yes.
but in the past the committee kinda spreads things out past the 8 seed so it doesn't always work out like that

It may not be as important as the fact that you are at home for the regional and the super, but it's certainly still important. As the #8 seed, you will match up vs the #9 seed in the supers, and you will be on the side of the bracket with the #1 overall seed in Omaha. As the #3 seed, you will match up with the #14 seed in the supers, and you will be on the side of the bracket with the #2 overall seed in Omaha. Also likely to have a weaker #2 in our regional as a #3 overall seed.

Hunt Palmer says we need to win 3 more games in the SEC tournament to get a top 8 seed, but we only have 2 left unfortunately.

I don't want any part of the 14 through 16 seed....I haven't seen projections but I don't want any part of Florida

I hear ya. But prepare yourself, with the SEC getting 13 teams into the field of 64, there will be a minimum of 5 possible SEC vs SEC super regional match-ups. Hopefully we get lucky and are one of the 3 regionals that don't. Or at least I hope we aren't matched up against an SEC team seeded #9-16 overall.

The Clemson regional that was forecasted yesterday had Alabama in it. I believe Alabama could win that regional and we would likely get paired with them at a super. Still some baseball to go so we’ll see how it shakes out.

It definitely matters, we just don’t know if it would be a good or bad thing. You can be the #3 overall seed and end up with a SEC teams as the 3 seed in your regional which might be a tougher draw than the #7 overall seed who gets a lower level team as the #3 seed in their regional. And obviously those matchups carry over to the Supers. You can look at last year. Had we beaten UNC, we would have had a very favorable super regional matchup.
