Hot take. Your children should be your highest priority, not your marriage.

I recently saw a Facebook post from a family friend saying your marriage should always come before your children. He's in his mid 30s and on his third marriage...
He's not the only one I've seen make such a bold and ignorant statement. I disagree with it entirely. You chose to bring another human into this world. They should be your top priority from that day forward. Marriages and romantic interests come and go. Your child is yours forever. They are your blood. Don't have kids if you're not prepared to prioritize them and give it all to help them be successful in life.
It's people with the mindset of my family friend that wonder why their child wants nothing to do with them once they're an adult.

Maybe your friend sees marriage as a subscription service with easy cancellation, while kids are a lifetime license you can't just uninstall. Some people just can't grasp the concept of a permanent download. To them I say, good luck with those future 'error 404: parental bond not found' messages.

Nvidia is years ahead with their SDKs and processing smaller quants but I think AMD is just fine for gaming.

Here's the thing:
1) Yes your kids should be the main priority and if your in a bad relationship with a bad person then you shouldn't keep your kids there to be hurt or damaged just because you married the person
2) The #1 indicator for anyone's success in this world is having 2 parents in the home. This crosses cultural, economic and ethnic lines. Prioritizing your marriage and having a stable, healthy relationship with your partner is prioritizing your children.

The spouse always comes first because without it you can't be the parent God says you should be and you made a lifelong comittment to God first to take care of your spouse.
God, spouse, children. Always in that order.

Yup
Kids can get a lot but kids over everything often leads to them getting quantity and losing the quality of a well rounded and stable home life

Sad to see the downvotes. I guess for those people if their spouse wants season tickets for football games and their child wants to play a sport, but there's only enough money for one, then daddy gets the season tickets. How nice.

Hot take: you have shitty examples of what a marriage is supposed to be.

So long as you are injecting the Bible into this... A lady named Miss Mary Ann (I forget her husband's name) went to our chruand she most definitely took your words to heart. She had scheduled whippings for her children every week. She always said it was for the sins she didn't find out about and to ensure they were disciplined for it. I wonder if she ever sees her children now.

I agree. Only women and homos use apple products

All you're really saying is your selfish arse women need to STFU and learn that it's not about their social media profiles.
There's a difference between understanding your job is to make them successful adults and giving them "all." F that.

I go back and forth on this. We've got 8 year old twin girls. When they were born, they became our priority.
Now, 8 years later our kids have a relatively amazing life, especially compared to how either od us grew up. My wife and I love each other and are committed to each other for life.
We live as co-parenting roommates. We have sex once a month or so. She's satisfied with her life as a mom, I desperately miss my passionate wife.
Making the kids our 100% priority has made our relationship the expense, and I don't think I'll ever get over that.

You get that you're creating a model for your daughters to follow, right? Do you want that for them?

My wife's content with the status quo. Guess I should just divorce and model that for the kids?
