By pitching Eyanson, it's clear that not even Jay believes a top 8 seed is locked up yet

And before anyone says he's setting up Eyanson to pitch game 1 next weekend...this is the same guy who started Skenes against Tulane. Anderson will go next Friday

It gives him the ability to start either guy next Friday

Agree. Win a game. Then it’s 100% done

Turns out hunt was wrong. He’s pitching Eyanson to give him work before regionals. Clown take

In a single elimination game you throw your best arms when you need them.

If this was a 4-0 game or if we had gotten a few more runs you may not see Eyanson here. But it’s a 2 run game so we need our best arm out there to give us our best chance to play tomorrow.

Kade is our best arm but he ran out of gas. Anthony is our next best so it’s his turn.

Y’all are so ridiculous.

This is not about winning this game and everything about making sure your top two aces get work. Of course they want to win, but that is not the reasoning.

This is a single elimination and if LSU were to lose without him getting work that would be awful. They don’t want him rusty.

You act like Anderson is our unequivocal best pitcher. While I know he's essentially our ace, we really have a 1a and 1b. Eyanson is the one that's actually having the better season statistically and is a semi finalist for Pitcher of the Year, not Anderson.

LSU is ranked #1. How is an 8 seed not a lock?

true but Jay has always kept the rotation the same even for regionals since he’s been at LSU.

Exactly. Nothing about this has to do with Hunt’s take. They don’t care about that.

Hopefully LSU wins, but we will never know if they would have, so they wanted to make sure he got work.

Losing to A&M & their low RPI drops lsu significantly.

Also praying selection people aren’t watching us get 4 hit against A&M’s 3rd starter and 6th option out the pen

This is the correct answer. But no one wants to hear that

There’s a lot of people who just don’t understand the value of having both throw today and having both available on 7 day’s rest for Friday.

Added bonus, when you win you get some young guys some valuable postseason innings.

ETA. Having both available on 7 days’ rest for next Friday allows us to look at the best match up with potential opponent rosters.

It's not the elite pitching, it's the lack of hitting that will do in this Tiger team! Pitching is national champion caliber, but not so the hitting...

This is dumb. Jay could’ve also gone to Cowan or Evans.
