Wasn’t a thing in the 90s. Not in my world at least.
If Tee Benoit needa a snack after going 2 for 3 with a ribbie, he got a hot pickle from the corner store and drank out the hose pipe.

Depends what age, younger ages always had a parent with an ice chest handing out drinks to the players after the games.

Party Favor bags have always been a thing IMO
as far as sports you get a granola bar and a little gatorade, no fancy bags over here

I remember party favors as a kid. However, snack bags after games is getting ridiculous. We used to get one of those juice barrel things and an orange slice. There wasn't some elaborate bag with 8 things in it.

The birthday party favors have been a thing for decades.
I mean, they also gave us drinks, orange slices, pizza parties, etc when I was playing ball in the 80s and 90s. Maybe they didn't individually package them, but this is way down the list of generational differences.

You think Gen X is the one with little leaguers right now?

Probably in the last 20 years. I hate it. Just a bunch of junk that'll get thrown in the trash.

My wife feels like she has to do these for every kid event.
I think they waste our money.

Gen X definitely has kids playing little league.
For one, Gen x'ers go up to 1980.
For two, people are having kids WAY older now than boomers.
My parents were married with a kid by 20.
I didn't have a kid until I was 31, and I still have a little league aged kid.
We have friends that had kids in their 40s.
Wild.

I'm Gen X. I remember going to some parent's trunk and getting capri suns out of a cooler while a dad (who was smoking a cig) passed out little debbies after every little league game. They rotated parents, but the capri sun and little debbie never changed.
None of my friends gave party favors.

My kids are 31 and 26 and had party favor bags at their birthday parties.
I hadn’t heard of the sports snack bags before now.

Since before 2001 at least

But she looked and smelled good doing it. Her pencil erasers kept reminding us all she was sans bra.

back in the 80's the soft drinks would be mixed in with the beer for the coaches after the game

I remember we had like a capri sun and bag of chips after games but nothing elaborate or over the top.

you think these parents do this cause they want to make the kids feel special or simply for the attention generated by doing it?
