Should Eyanson start against A&M?

He was C0-Pitcher of the Week after 3-hitting A&M on May 3 at A&M. He last pitched on Friday against S. Carolina. Anderson pitched on Thursday. Plenty of rest for both.

Is there some game between now and when we play A&M that Anderson would start? Because if there isn't, I don't see the point of this question.

I’m sure Jay would love to get them out of rotation right in the post season. Good call.

Anderson allowed 3 hits and 1 run vs A&M too though.

Anderson pitched Friday and Eyanson pitched Saturday against USCe.
Both will be on normal rest if Anderson pitches tomorrow and Eyanson pitches Saturday if we win.
That will set up for the Regional with both on full rest no matter if it starts Friday or Saturday, with a potential extra day of rest if neither starts against the 4 seed.

Well Aubie didn’t pitch Dutton and they were bounced today because they were holding him for LSU.
Play every game to win.
Play every game to win.

Well, that's likely because he pitched last Friday and they wanted to keep him on his normal rest.

You don't get extra-credit in the NCAA Tournament for winning a 2nd round game in the SEC Tournament. Like LSU, Auburn has bigger games ahead than SEC Tournament games. Auburn is not going to start a regional 0-1 because they lost today. However, if, somehow, their No. 1 starter was less sharp next week because he pitched on short rest in the SEC tournament, they COULD start 0-1 in a regional.
A&M can't look ahead. They have to win the SECT to keep their season alive. Auburn and LSU can look ahead. In fact, it's probably the smart thing to do.
Fans don't like to hear it, but for the teams at the top of the SEC, this tournament isn't that important.

That’s not why they held him. I guess now is when the postseason fans join in.

Some are still salty that Skenes pitched vs Tulane in the 2023 regional

Should you post again. No

Anderson diced them up the first time and that was with Sorell and Laviolette who’ll both be out. Not to mention that was one of the worst umps we had all season and Anderson essentially had to throw 4 strikes an AB

That's what Van Horn would do so no

The "What if Ranters" never disappoint with their collection of logic.

Anderson pitched 6 innings, struck out 12, and gave up 1 run against A&M.

Jace was 1-12 with 1 walk, 1 RBI, and 6 strikeouts vs LSU.

No. You throw Anderson, maybe a hair less than his normal pitch count. Then you go with your normal bullpen strategy that the game presents. It's just another Friday night, with no guarantee of a Saturday or Sunday game so you really don't need to worry about holding anybody, unless purely to give them additional rest for next weekend (i.e. guys that may be fading a bit with their workload, which shouldn't be many guys at all but Cowan does come to mind). Take it one game at a time. If you get to tomorrow, you use what you have to again. If you get to Sunday, you just get work for guys that are left. Don't overthink it.
