65” TV Recommendations: Sony Bravia 7 vs Samsung QN90D

Looking for some help. Have not purchased a TV in a while and doing research online (RTings, reviews, YouTube videos, etc…) I have concluded that these are my best options. I have always had Samsung but am open to Sony.
This will be my main TV in the living area. It has several windows and is well lit throughout the daytime so glare and reflection are a bit of a concern. Night is generally darker.
Watch mostly sports, movies, TV series, some Netflix and Amazon Prime. We do have a PS5 we play some games on and use for Blu-ray.
Does anyone have a preference / personal experience with these TV’s?

Samsung is a decent bit brighter so I would go with it since it is in your living room with lots of windows. The Sony is not good with reflections.

Not really concerned about Walmart or sale items. Not being an arse…. I’m ok with spending a little to get best quality for our main viewing TV.
Just want the best TV for my situation and watching TV habits. OLED seems to be a no go due to glare. Best Option appears to be Mini LED. These 2 TV’s appear to be the most highly reviewed for my home viewing experience.

Beats me then, I can’t tell the difference between a $400 and $4000 65” and I don’t even wear glasses.

Completely understand. Unfortunately for me, I can tell a massive difference in TV picture quality.
We enjoy hosting guests, watching games, movies, etc..
We spend a good bit of time with the TV on. I work from home so I see it all day.

Sony Bravia 8 is an OLED but supposed to handle reflection better than previous models.

This. When doing the comparison on Rtings.com, it really highlights how poorly the Sony handles reflections.

My 65" QN90A has done well in a bright room with a wall of windows
The Samsung software is just ok compared to my Sony OLED but the picture quality is top notch in a bright environment

Thanks all. Looks like I will go with the Samsung. Will report back once it is up and running.

Simply wondering why only 65 inches?
I have a 100 inch in the bar area and an older 82 inch in the living room.
The 100 inch is new and had a better picture than the much more expensive 82 inch which is older.
65 inch in the office seems small comparatively as does the 65 inch in the bedroom.
Ultra you can't fit a bigger TV, get a bigger tv.

Only spot for TV in the living room is between 2 windows. Fits a 65” perfectly. Boss (wife) does not want the TV to cover / stretch out over curtains or windows.

So you're upgrading the iPhone she's scrolling on while she pretends to watch TV?

Between those two, Bravia 7 all day.

Bravia 7 is a better TV, but that Samsung is one of the absolute best in regard to glare reduction.

I'm definitely team Sony when it comes to televisions. Sony processing sets their TV's apart from anything else.
I have a 65" A9G and a 77" A95L
Both are OLED and I initially purchased a Samsung to give a shot but I found it to be too bright. The brightness took over everything. Sony has a better all around picture quality by far.
The Panasonic Z series OLED are also really good products also. Worth a look.

I haven’t updated my research on them in about 3 year, when I bought a Samsung 85” Q90. I got it because I have a wall of windows and the Samsung was brighter and at that point the processor was better. Although I think the Sony processor is better now. No issues or complaints with my Samsung and it handles the brightness and reflections well.
My sister just bought a 65” Sony though and it’s nice. Her living room is much darker than ours though.
Both are good IMO. I’d probably go with the better deal.

I ended up buying both and will test them out this weekend. In typical fashion… the Samsung came in with the box damaged and the TV was scratched on the corner. Should get the replacement in today.
Samsung was $1,399 from Best Buy. Their return policy blows big time but they sent a new one out.
Bought the Sony Bravia from Costco for $999. Return policy at Costco is awesome. Basically 90 days, no questions asked.
