Do you know anybody who has lived in the same house their entire life?

Is this even possible to do in the south?
I assume by the time you die the house will be the ghetto. If you are “lucky” you might see it start to decline for a while and Then start trending back upwards in your lifetime.

Aside from an estate of some sort or literally in the middle of nowhere with no houses around? Even in many smallish towns you can tell where the rich people live. The neighborhoods didn’t exist 30 years ago.

People will literally leave small, rural towns, and try to live in the even smaller town next door with the “better” school district.

More than an couple Uptown.

Daughter or Son got the family house when they got married, parents wanted to downsize or had divorced or one parent had died.

One friend’s parent has been in the same house since the 1950s as a kid. It was built around 1880.

We still have our family farm (and farmhouse) in the family. Last occupied in ~1960.

My dad was the eldest son of the eldest son of the eldest son of the eldest son. Worked out OK.

Built around 1795-1800 in Virginia.

One of my brothers bought the house we grew up in from my parents.

No what once was a poultry farm. Now it’s just a house on acreage I might live in 2-3 months out of the year.

I usually get to Canada at the end of August and don’t leave until Octoberish, then various parts of the country until February. Then the wife and I split time between my place in Minnesota and her place in madisonville.

My dad did until he passed. Mom would have but it was too hard for her to continue living there without him. So she sold it after 43 years. Guess I'm lucky to have never had to move growing up.

My GrandParents were married in 1956 and moved into their first and only house that year.

It’s the house I grew up in and they are still both alive and live there to this day.

The house is in excellent shape… my Grandfather has taken care of it well.

Edit to say they paid $8,000 for it in 1956.

My grandparents bought a house and land when my mom was in elementary school. When she got married a house was built next door and my parents lived there and raised us. My mom would still live there if the state didn't put a freeway through the land around the time my parents retired. They now live 10 minutes up the road.

My wife spent her whole life in the same house and her parents still live there, still married. Polar opposite of my family.
