Well... That is if you believe the people like Roger and his gang of idiots.

The electronic payment system should be standardized and opened so that the barrier to entry isn't so monumental. This would allow more competition instead of the 5 of them agreeing to a fee structure and telling everyone else to kick rocks.
Debit card fees are almost nothing though so there's still that.

Has Roger said this is communist? Or do you just have hurt fee fees?

Credit card fees are ridiculous. That’s why businesses might have an up charge on small purchases.

If it is a fee you pay for it. Period. Some businesses will actually tell you, others will just lump it into the sales price. Some places, especially more and more restaurants now, will discount your bill for the percentage on card transactions if you pay cash.
Then, there are the fees for online takeout ordering that some restaurants offset but all recoup to some extent. Either way, you pay for those fees......not the businesses.

The price of things involve the cost of doing business.
You also pay their internet, and electric bill.
Businesses don’t pay their utilities. You do.

you pay for the fees, and there are many built into the price...if they stopped these fees, you think the restaurants would lower prices? LOL

you talking about Roger? If so, Trump caused him to fall off the wagon, which I hate for him...but the dude lost his mind and could not be reasoned with. He was wrong about everything too.....which wasn't hard to predict.

How about bust up the entire financial system. It’s all tied to the Federal Reserve: they are lending money that has zero backing and earning predatory interest rates.

The entire system needs to be taken down, it’s unconstitutional!!!

Do tariffs work the same way?

Ditto for corporate income taxes.

These fees are the best way to show people how tariffs work. The company can eat the fee or most likely they pass it on to you.
Believe it or not, there are still places that don't accept credit cards, cash or check only. The choice to make easier to purchase items is why most places take your card as they will do more business in theory to make up any transactional cost.

Well, yeah...
That's like me saying.. I don't pay for my house and cars, my employer does since that's where my paycheck comes from to pay for those things.

It is not just swipe fees that are hurting consumers. Some credit cards are getting ridiculous on the fees and are now increasing redemption rates. Citibank just informed me that my ThankYou Rewards are now going to be redeemed at 75%. So if you had a 100 dollars in rewards, they were only worth 75 dollars if I wanted to cash them out as a statement credit. I also had one credit card tell me that if I wanted to continue receiving a paper bill it would cost me 1.99 a month.
Then you have subprime cards that are charging a 100 dollars or more in annual fees and 12 dollar monthly fees. All the while charging 36% interest on limits of under a thousand. There are some that even charge for credit line increases as much as 25% of the increase.

Yeah, so do corporate taxes.

What do you do for a living?
Because they damn sure are something in my world. Debit card fees add up to at least $100k on my P&L’s if I didn’t move to a reverse my feee system and even with that, I still lose out on approx $30k in revenue per year. That’s about $150-$170k over the life of a 5 year franchise agreement just because ignorant customers choose to use a card rather than EFT, due to igorant mindsets like yours, “the fees are almost nothing.”

Not sure why you're being downvoted when everything you posted is true. I personally tell my customers there is a credit/debt charge before they swipe.
