Seemingly the only way it could happen is if Trump really puts all their criminal activity out there and it’s some kind of plea deal they vote for it instead of going to jail

Should be two terms max for any elected position.
And 5 years max for any government job.
And 5 years max for any government job.

Will Congress ever vote themselves out of their seats, where they get massive kickbacks and are free to use insider trading info to amass wealth?
In their place, I wouldn’t.
In their place, I wouldn’t.

“two terms max” would deny voters the chance to elect someone who has done a good job for their constituents. It’s a tough question.

Taxpayers should demand it

Would you willingly vote yourself out of a do nothing job that allows you to grift and bribe your way to generational wealth?

Honestly she looks like a corpse, just missing the casket.

How did the originators design the framework for our government? Was it to give back to/serve the country or was it a career choice?
2 terms in the senate and 3 in the house. They’re compromised in half that time, anyway.

It’s really not. Even if they start out with good intentions, the temptation is too great not to be corrupted.

Reminds me of story an older gentleman that used to hunt with us told about a guy he worked with-
He said this guy would always raise hell and talk about how sorry as sap the people in BR and DC were and how they were a bunch of crooks, etc.
Then someone asked him why he didn’t run for office and try to fix things.
He said: “Because I’d go in there and be just as sorry and crooked as the rest of em!”

It takes at least 3 years to really get your job figured out if it's even reasonably complex. Can you imagine the turnover costs of constantly having to replace and train your workforce every five years? Just look at the military. You'd have people going from 2nd Lieutenant to 4-star General in under 5 years. There's no way that all of the skill sets between those two can be mastered in 5 years. Even if they could be, you'd be washing them out and replacing them once they acquired them.

Do y'all have defective copies of the Constitution? It sounds like yours is missing Article V.
We don't need their permission to do anything. We just have to do support the Convention of States project and get our act together, collectively.

Seems to work for the presidency, why not congress as well??
Now the Supreme Court for life thing makes sense imo as they're SUPPOSED TO be able to consider things outside of a responsibility to any constituents/political campaigns.

They can't just vote term limits into existence. It requires a Constitutuonal amendment. They could possibly pass some House rules to limit the ability of Members to do very much after 3 or 4 terms, but thst would likely be stricken as Unconstitutional. Absent some type of misconduct, we can't tell voters who they cam choose as their Representative.
Whst Congress CAN and should do is increase its size. There is no excuse for being stuck at 435 Representatives. Double it. Or triple it. It wouldn't put an end to legacy Congressmen, but it would dilute their impact.
But, as said, Congress critters are not going to vote to reduce their individual power.
