I've always loved the look of these cars. They're gorgeous with the right touches.

Swapping more reliable and modern Jag components into one of these chassis could be a fun project.

Elegance.

Those were fine looking cars, but a pain to maintain.
My daughter had one.
Two happiest days - the date of purchase and the date when they towed it away after it caught fire and burned.

The XJR form that era was great but a maintenance nightmare.

Silly rabbit oxymorons are for noobs.

The correct answer to the question you are contemplating is the first words that come out of a baby petrol head's mouth: LS swap.

You can even embellish the engine cover if you so choose.

I hear electrical gremlins are a big issue with these.

I've got a 95 XJ. Had it for 6 years and have maybe put 1000 miles on it in that time. Make me an offer.

I feel like I’m the wrong skin color to drive that.

I love them and I think they are gorgeous but you're never going to keep it running or find parts to fix it.

As far as I know there has been literally nothing else revealed since the tranny concept car from a few months ago. The one that was incredibly uninspiring and had a massive beam going down the middle.

I did the cash for clunkers thing with a jag that was running on maybe 9 of its 12 cylinders lol.

It would be cool to have one with a LS swap.

This may be the understatement of the century.

The plastic timing chain tensioners are a ticking time-bomb. It's very expensive to remedy that as it's an engine out kind of job. You used to be able to buy aftermarket aluminum ones, but they were becoming hard to find around 2008, so I can't imagine what that would be like to try and get one 15+ years on. If you have one of those go out, there is a high risk of major engine damage. 25 years old, you can guarantee that they are bad or are going bad.

They had coolant system issues, the ABS modules and connectors cracked like it was their job, the differentials only last about 65k miles and interior pieces and seats will literally never be right.

Cool looking cars, but really troublesome and needy.
