He wants Cassidy to win and an empty seat to walk into after he is finished being Governor.

I fully expect the LAGOP to frick this up enough that we keep Cassidy. Because that's what they do.

Why on earth would Letlow resign as a Senator? No way on Earth I would do that.....

Cassidy is probably going to win because the Louisiana populists will engage in a circular firing squad.

This now could be interesting with Fleming going public like this.

If the GOP closed primary runoff ends up being Fleming vs Cassidy, does Landry give his support to Fleming?

General runoff of Fleming vs JBE, does the Governor get involved?

Fleming said he believes Landry wants Letlow to win the Senate seat, only to give it up late in her first term so Landry can appoint himself to the Senate with a promise to appoint Letlow to a plum job in higher education.

Sounds bizarre but….

I thought it was ridiculous when I first heard about it in January, but Jeff has proven to be the most transactional politician I've seen," Fleming said Tuesday in an interview with USA Today Network. "At first I totally dismissed it, but if he would cut a deal to add a second Democratic congressional seat in a Republican state, why shouldn't we believe this?

He’s not wrong.

I say we speed that up for him. The coon arse in a suit is a joke and a backstabbing Republican that is nothing more than a trial attorney.

Cut deals with Cleo Fields, Billy Nungesser and the big trial lawyers like Get Gordon and Carmouche. All for his own personal political future gain.

This here is actually pretty unshocking news.

He's Edwin Edwa(R)s. Louisiana can't seem to figure out that the only thing he cares about his own best interest

To my understanding, the Nungesser deal involved killing the Barataria diversion which killed billions of dollars in construction jobs and ended our best hope to combat coastal erosion and essentially erasing all the research, planning and previous began work just so he could have another slice of support and money.

A true sleaze bag that doesn’t give a damn about the state of LA or it’s citizens.

Truly politics at its worst. Typical Louisiana

I haven’t seen anything from The Hayride yet giving some commentary or insight on this. Don’t know if Moon Griffon has talked about it. Haven’t listened to his show in a long time. Maybe he’s said something?
