2025 - Cooper Flagg - Mavs jumped 10 spots
2023 - Victor Wemby - Spurs jump 2 spots
2019 - Zion - Pels jump 6 spots in AD deal
2014 - Wiggins - Cavs jump 8 spots
2012 - AD - Pels jump 3 spots in CP3 deal
2011 - Kyrie - Cavs jump 7 spots
2010 - Wall - Wiz jump 4 spots
2008 - DRose - Bulls jump 8 spots
2007 - Oden - Blazers jump 6 spots

Every generational talent outside of Lebron going to Cleveland has had a substantial jump that fits situational moments (AD forcing his way out, CP3 trade to Lakers getting blocked, Lebron going back to Cleveland, Lebron needing trade leverage for KLove, etcccc)

I don't necessarily mind the lottery, but the lottery should only be for the top few teams. Have the top four have a lottery for the top four picks, something like that. Teams like Dallas shouldn't be jumping 10 spots. That defeats the purpose.

They should pull the lottery balls live on TV. Make it a more interesting event and less of a way to rig it.

Agreed. No one making the play-in should have a shot.

This. Limit it to the worse 4 to determine their seeding. After 4, just put them in by their records.

Tanking is happening no matter what you do. They are hurting the product more overall by trying to stop the tanking.

Just get rid of the Pels and we won’t have a reason to follow this shite.

Goldi wants to get rid of the Saints and the Pels.

A beacon of sunshine. So I lean to the atl origin theory. Definitely not a bears fan.

the problem is some teams aren’t just tanking, they are also just fricking bad.

and then they lose the lottery and drop out the top 4 picks and don’t get a player that’s is going to make them good.

Only two other teams have gotten the no. 1 pick with similar odds as Dallas just did. No teams have had worse odds.

Chicago and Orlando. Now let’s look at all 3 situations surrounding all 3

Chicago- The Bulls were floundering in a big market, desperate for relevance after Jordan’s era. Rose, a local kid from Englewood, was a perfect fit—his MVP-level play (2011) revived Chicago’s buzz. A 1.7% chance is a 1-in-59 shot, and jumping 8 spots is nearly identical to Dallas’ 2025 leap. The narrative—hometown hero saves big market—screams NBA scriptwriting.

Orlando - Shaq, a promising charismatic superstar in the making in a small market, went 41-41 and end up with the no.1 pick so the NBA can pair him with “the next Magic Johnson” in Penny Hardaway. Ratings galore with those two

Dallas - some reason they trade Luka to Lakers and LeBron (NBAs golden franchise and golden child). Reports of other teams weren’t even aware Luka was available. Now they get the number one pick despite terrible odds and get to add yet another possible superstar ( tbd ).

There is no doubt in my mind this was planned.

One problem here.

The Magic didn’t draft penny.

I hated that they traded Webber.

It’s his schtick. He also believes New Orleans and LA in general should sink into the gulf. He thinks the Zurich classic should cease to exist.

Basically if it has anything to do with New Orleans or Louisiana he’s in opposition or thinks it’s a waste.
