Should be ready to take over by the time Murray’s contract is up.

Jaku isn’t a bad pick

But let’s get crazy

Pels get 1, Naji, Portis and Connaughton

Bucks get future 1st, 7, Zion, Jose

Mavs get Giannis

I'd rather trade down to get another pick in the first and get Walter Clayton with the later pick.

We can get the 2nd pick. There is a way.

The Spurs have the 2nd pick and are set at guard. They want Giannis. The Bucks want their picks back. We get involved with in a 3-way with them. We get 2nd, the Spurs get Giannis and the Buck get a ton of picks. There will be a lot of other players/assets involved but that is the frame work..

Ha, just posted this. I said 7, swap and 2027 pick for 2. Would have to ignore what Dallas and SA look like moving forward but still.

That’s alot to move up 5 spots. If we letting the Bucks keep the swap and their 27 pick, I want to keep 7

I just ran it through.

Spurs get Giannis

Pelicans get #2

Bucks get #7, #14, Barnes, Castle, K. Johnson, Sochan, a future Spurs 1st, and we give them back their swap for next year and the next (so we give up two future swaps to move from 7 to 2).

I think the value is about right. Makes sense for everyone involved..

2027 is a straight up pick, not a swap.

If we were to get involved I would want San Antonio to send us 6-8 of all those 2nds they have as well

I did this…

Spurs get Giannis

Pels get 2, Barnes, and Portis (can use 7 and Barnes for something else)

Bucks get 14, their 26 and 27 picks back from us, 28 Boston swap rights, Keldon Johnson, Sochan, and CJ (who they can flip)

That makes it difficult, cause we don't have our own. We can't move up with just a swap. What if we throw in the Indy 1st for next year and keep the 2027 pick?

For Giannis? That is no where near enough. No young talent or immediate picks. They are going to want #7 and Castle at a minimum..

yeah I don’t think it’s likely. Just depends if they value control of their future or a guarantee of Harper. It’s possible

That's a good point. It is wishful thinking. I know they want some picks/swaps back. But they might figure we will be bad too, so they might not lose too much in a swap.

Well, it’s do they want 2, or do they want 7 and their next two drafts. And hey, in 2027 it’s the best if theirs and ours, and no guarantee we can’t muck it up. It’s a tough call, but that generally means it’s fair.

The more I think about it, if I am the Bucks, I am taking #2 and a big package of players/picks from the Spurs, that has to include Castle. They have all of the offseason and next year to try and get their selections back from us. They don't have to do it now. So just maximize what they can get now. It makes the most sense.

Yeah, the Pels aren't getting what they want from the Spurs or Bucks. They would have to do something like add what they get facilitating the Giannis trade to Herb and CJ and maybe get back someone like Ja. I don't know if you could actually pull that off, but that's a lot closer to happening than #2.

No. Its a team he is supposedly open to though.

I was just doing a lot of wishful thinking, trying to figure out a way for us to get into the top 2 to get someone like Harper. The more I think about it, it really doesn't make sense for the Bucks. They are better off keeping #2 and taking a potential star. Too big of a gamble to bank on next years' lottery.
