He was actually living with the Exxon Refinery’s Plant Manager, who had sons the same age. Bernhard was helping financially, and cutting corners to keep him eligible. My boys played against him in HS

You're not wrong. He was a thug.
It kinda takes a thug to play high level rugby.
And, he's playing outside at center and winger at 250 lbs. Hes bigger that lots of guys in the scrum.
