I think it's OK to have some street talking guys in the studio once in a while -- I always enjoyed Michael Irvin. Perk isn't all that interesting to me, though.

ESPN’s presentation has been lacking for years, too much wanting to have a hot take, not enough substance, and often lacking real breakdown of the game which these days fans wanna hear. The nostalgia and authenticity that TNT’s crew brought, even with its flaws, still felt more connected to the game. But yeah, lately, it’s been clear Shaq’s just cashing checks…he brings personality, but it’s hard to overlook how checked out he seems at times.
Amazon and NBC stepping in could be a reset. If they lean into smart commentary, actual storytelling, and give new voices a shot, we might get something refreshing.
