About dang time WMHS got a decent softball coach. About 20 years too late

I can confirm that Brian West was one of the best softball players the LSU intramural fields have ever seen.

Does he have daughters that play?

He won state with Sterlington and was 57-8 the last 2 seasons. Dude is legit.

He’s had one helluva athletic career.
Won multiple football state titles at the height of Don Shows’ West Monroe era.
A key player on a WM baseball state championship team.
He was a first round pick in the 1999 MLB draft, that also included a bunch of high picks from Louisiana, including, Ben Sheets, Casey Daigle, and Kurt Ainsworth.
Worked his way up to the 40 man roster after a few minor league season, but an elbow injury derailed his career.
He went back to college and also resumed his football career. Immediately worked his way into the DL rotation in 2003, backing up Marcus Spears, and was a member of the 2003 National Championship team.

The question is if it is a longtime hire or just a couple of years until his daughters graduate?
Can districts just hire anyone they want to coach now even if you don’t work for the school? Not sure how prevalent it is but shouldn’t coaches be teachers in the school district or is that just old timey thinking?

WTF does this even mean?

This is a question most have but won’t say it publicly. He has only been a high school coach for two years and won with the previous coach’s talent she left him at Sterlington
