What's your favorite song of his? or album?

My pick is "Glass Houses" and best song "Summer Highland Falls".

To me, he ranks as one of the best song writers of our generation.

Captain Jack and The Stranger.
Enjoy hearing Joel talk about the inspiration for his songs on SiriusXM.

Ballad of Billy the Kid

great song...this is in my top 5 with:
Miami 2017
Piano Man
Captain Jack
The Entertainer

I'll get downvoted for this, but I think most of everything he did after 1978 was just pop-schlock.

I loved Billy Joel growing up and had most of his albums.

Had front row seats to a concert at Reunion Arena late '80s or early '90s, not sure exactly what year it was. He already had a backup singer to hit the high notes for him. But it was a great concert, and we could see Christie Brinkley dancing just offstage.

I don'y know if you have seen the Hired Gun documentary that came out about 10 years ago, and the story of how he treated the original guys in his band that helped him get famous.

Since then I cannot listen to him anymore. If he comes up on the radio I switch stations.

Yeah, he treated his lifelong drummer-Liberty Devito like crap.

He's one of my favorite drummers. Liberty seems at peace now. He got a nice non-disclosure settlement especially after his lawyers did a little back tracking on pay also.

Favorite tune? I like to go to deep cuts like when he was coked out.

I met him....like 30 years ago. Lol

I met him through another drummer by the name of Eddie Zyne. ...who played for Hall and Oates for a long time.

Seriously? haha, that's cool.

For some reason I was always drawn to him and Bun E Carlos of cheap trick.
