What do you go with? Quarter, cheap plastic with a stake on it, poker chip, custom made, divot tool with magnet, hat with magnet.
Been looking at the Pins and Aces site and they have some pretty cool markers. Some good ones on eBay for just a couple bucks.

I have a small coin with the Masters emblem on it I’ve used since around 2005.
I have no idea where I got it from tho

I only use the little metal ones that come off a divot tool (fix your ball marks people)
They are flat enough and I have a nice collection of divot tools with ball marks from courses I’ve played through the years.
May be an unpopular take but I can’t stand when someone is using a big poker chip. I know the ones I use still affect the putt and if you’re using a larger one I can just ask you to move it but that’s jmo.
I like the smaller flat ones or the plastic ones with small stake in are good too.

Preach brother!
Boys and girls, fix your pitch marks and stop using poker chips.

I use flat metal markers and poker chips. It all depends on why I am marking my ball. If I am not on anyone's way with their putt or chip, I use the poker chip. If I am close in or near someone's line, it is the metal marker.
As for the ball marks on the green, I try to repair mine and the dumbshites' marks who came before me. Hate these cretins.
Also, I have taken to filling in divots that many of these same cretins leave because they are lazy. Usually, I do this while waiting on the professional hackers taking a very long time to line up their 24 foot double bogey putt; like their $1 Nassau determines if he can buy food for his family.

I use several different LSU poker chips

I use a 1969 Kennedy half dollar (just the circulation one, not the 90% silver one). Slightly bigger than a quarter. Always with the eagle face up.

Whats the issue with poker chips?
As long as it's out of the way I don't care what it is. Whether a ball marker is quarter size or a poker chip isn't going to be the reason I make or miss a putt

I prefer the poker chip simply because it's easier to grab in my pocket. I hate digging around in my pocket with tees in it looking for a little ball maker. The dime or penny being an absolute no.

Oooo I like that. I have quite a few just melt value Morgan silver dollars and half dollars. Will have to throw a few in the bag.

My reasoning is, it’s a distraction. It catches my eye as I’m over the ball.

I have a gold dollar that my grandfather gave me at my grandmothers funeral about almost 20 years ago. I had a golf tournament the following week and as he gave it to me said its my grandmothers "last dollar" investing in my golf game. Only coin in my bag ever since.
My dad travelled internationally for work prior to me getting big into golf he had a bag full of foreign coins. I used those prior to the gold dollar.

I use my Baylor magnetic marker with a hat clip. Very convenient and not obnoxiously large like poker chip markers.

I’ve never had one last more than a couple of rounds. Things just vanish.
But I manage to find new ones also.

Nothing special but I played with a guy once who used a 1,000 euro chip from a casino in France. Said he thought he lost it while in France but found it when they got home. Considered doing a cash out by mail but opted to use it as a stupid flex

Wow. I would not trust myself with that. Unless it's a poker chip mine seem to only last a few rounds.

I rarely mark my ball unless it’s a tournament. We just leave them where they’re at unless it’s in someone’s line. Then I use whatever I can find in my bag

Are people really marking their ball to adjust it when playing just rounds with their friends?

Ha ha. Yea 99/100 if stick a tee in the ground and that’s when my ball is in the way. I don’t mark it when i pick it up and clean it off.

I usually mark it to clean it real fast then put it back down

My dad used to collect Silver $1's, so that's what I use. They tend to get a bit tarnished with the chemicals/fertilizers used on greens, so I need to polish them a couple times annually, but that is my tribute to him getting me started in golf...
