Grubb puts BKM on top! I never knew how he thought about everything out of the press conferences only. But I like the way thinks about the topics. He speaks the truth outside of the Pelicans/Saints stranglehold of the media.
I'm with him on trading for morant. The fans that are in love with herb. We'll just have to deal with it. If you want a former top 2 pick you have to go out and get it.

If you want to turn down a deal for Ja because you want to keep Herb. You’re a certified retard

Well, it’s always fun to dream. Draft VJ Edgecomb, probably start CJ but slowly move towards VJ and his defense as he starts to figure things out. Ja, VJ, Trey and Zion would be an absolute highlight real even if not a dominant basketball team.

IDK about you, but no way you're getting VJ Edgecomb & trading Ja.
Its gonna require CJ + Jones + Picks and if Memphis is smart, they're not going to say yes unless its our top 5 pick THIS year.
They are VOID of PG talent outside of Ja.

I’ll be the extreme minority but give me Kon Knueppel over Edgecombe. I’m convinced his smarts, energy and shooting ability will cover for any lack of athleticism.

Give me an example of a similar player?
Is Ka-nipple the next Luka? I seriously doubt it.
He may end up being a decent nba player, but I’d be pissed if we drafted him. And I like the kid. I actually think he should spend two more years at Duke with NIL now. He’s an elite college player, more than likely a nobody in the nba.

I think comparisons are kind of bullshite so i’ve never really given a comp on him much thought but I did watch him put Duke on his back when Flagg had a short injury and he shined under the pressure. You may not agree and think Edgecombe is the pick but I like Knueppel’s high floor if we are picking outside the top 3. Of course if we are picking 3rd or below I’d argue we trade the pick for proven talent if we are keeping Zion which I can’t see them trading and taking 10 cents on the dollar for his value but nothing shocks me with this franchise. If they trade Zion though they have to trade CJ, Trey, Herb, Dejounte, etc. If Zion goes we have to blow it up completely. I hope that doesn’t happen as we finally saw glimpses of how well Zion and Trey can be together. I’ll throw a kind of throwback comp though: Detlef Schrempf. Not quite as tall but a similar style of play. Very efficient scorer and underrated on defense.

Good comparison. Both extremely strong and can play 1-3. Both can shoot but may need to stay attacking the glass on break or half court.. I’m going with the younger kid. Too much speed and strength. He will be able to excel without the ball or setting up a true offensive set. Knipple goes to Brooklyn or dc with a bad lottery roll.

Agreed. Edgecombe really isn’t a project. He plays good defense and he’s improved as the season went on. He a solid player. Wingspan and lack of aggression are his only issues for me.

He is small and skinny for a wing. He doesn't have the ball skills to be a lead guard. He's being listed from 6'3-6'5 at about 180lbs. I haven't seen his wingspan, but it doesn't seem super long like Donovan Mitchell. He'll need to add weight and figure out a role. I don't like the fit for us, I normally support BPA in the draft. But top 5 picks have to start right away. Where does he slot in at?

Does anyone think Gayle will allow trading for the off the court issues in a player like Ja. I don't see Dumars wanting that either.

Ja has reliability issues.

Cant wait to hear his race baiting takes on my social media page now.

I do t think you can draft a guy like kneuppel as the pels. Just not a high enough upside.
I’m trying to think of a recent guy who excelled and it’s hard. We don’t need a kispert, we need to swing for the fences.
I haven’t watched the guy play but reading about him sounds like he’s a Doug McDermott type in the nba

I like Kon a lot and think he will be a good NBA player for a very long time. But there is serious question about his upside. For US!…. I like:
Cooper
Harper
VJ
Fears
Bailey
Kon
Big question on VJ is going to be his height. If he’s 6’5(think Anthony Edwards), it’s a no brainer. If he’s 6’3, aka more CJ McCollum size, I get way more nervous. I really don’t think Jeremiah Fears is talked about enough. He’s a long 6’4 true point in my opinion. He re-classified, so is super young. I think he’s the guy that becomes way better in the NBA, not currently talked about as top 5. You get to 6, NBA draft becomes a crap shoot and Kon is a really good basketball player in probably a 6’7 body. Take the sure thing.

I think the wingspan and build would be more of a concern. Take a guy like Dovovan Mitchell. He's only listed at 6'2-6'3, but he super long, like almost 7' wingspan. Plus he's well over 200lbs and very strong. If Edgecombe can fill out and he has plus reach, I think he'll be fine. He's levels above McCollum athletically. His comps are to guys like Westbrook..

Memphis ain't trading Ja.
If there is a continuum of fan love, with Dallas' love for Luka on one end and New Orleans' love for Zion on the other, Ja is way over on the Luka side.

Schrempf was a good bit taller, and that makes a huge difference.
and he didn't even become a starter in the nba until 8 years into the league, and didn't get starter minutes until year 5.
To me Ka-nipple is going to be Doug McDermott, maybe slightly better. Similar size guys, crafty offensively b/c of the lack of athleticism, excellent shooter, tries on defense.
Not spending a top 6 pick on Doug McDermott.

How about Chris Mullin or Dan Majerle?

last thing you need is Morant in the lockerroom
