I don't think Mass Effect 4 is going to be "woke" or whatever, but rather super safe

I think Veilguard sent shockwaves through EA. I think they respond by playing it safe, and creating a generic, soulless game.
It seems to be the pattern with frightened AAA devs. The lack of a "modern audience" buying power is cratering the pandering bullshite they release. . .so they respond by putting out generic paint-by-numbers shite, because they have forgotten how to innovate, and are terrified of taking risks.
AC Shadows is a good example of this. I know some people have to like it because something something anti-wokes, but the game is meh. Pretty as hell, but the definition of "just ok".
I think that is where Mass Effect is heading. . .safe and pretty
Andromeda, but better character models.
And I think Dragon Age is dead forever. They don't have the balls to retcon a rejected game, and I don't think fans trust them anymore.

Is this even an imminent release? It might be in development but still super far away.

If the story for a mass effect sucks it will bomb harder than dragon age. A massive part of the series is built on buy in to the narrative lose that and it’s another generic shooter with outdated mechanics.

Modern BioWare is not capable of making a good RPG. All the talented writers left long ago. It’ll be trash

BioWare died after they released anthem. They’ve been surviving on reputation and a catalog of IP but it’s evident with each release that any perceived momentum they had was just inertia that has slowly petered out to a crawl.

They pulled 3/4ths of the team from Andromeda, to focus hard on Anthem.
That is why Andromeda was garbage.

I think the problem runs deeper because if you take out Taash, that's exactly what Veilguard is. There's a lack of talent, passion, and pride in ones work within the AAA games space that has lead to this.

They won't do this but I pray they will make a game with gameplay similar to Mass Effect 3, the story of 2, and the RPG elements of 1.

Then you may be interested in an upcoming game called Exodus. A lot of the OG Mass Effect team have been working on this for quite a while. Gives me serious hope that it could be the real spiritual successor to the ME trilogy.

This is such a silly meme. Tight shots of her arse are still all over the game; they removed a single instance that was horribly discordant because it occurred during an extremely emotional conversation in which she was for the first time going deep into her personal life with Shep. The first time I saw that scene, I thought it was a bug.
I was a fan of the increased nudity in Andromeda. Hell, half the time I run my BG3 crew around naked just for kicks. But that scene was just fricking weird

The rot goes too deep. I will bet that it will still be woke. Even after letting folks go, I bet they hired new people with the exact same mentality and bias as the folks they fired. The next ME will be the same woke crap. If we are lucky, they will at least stay away from pronoun lectures in game.
