As significant as the photo is, I can't see it being Pulitzer worthy. It's pure luck that he captured the bullet.

And to think... we have some brainless, single cell organisms posting here that say the whole thing was staged and Trump was never shot at.

Is that Joe leaving for the last time?

Caption it with... "The 4 year national nightmare is finally about to be over" and they might have a point.

It’s pure luck that
-he was in the exact right position
-with the exact right camera
-at the exact right time
-despite being in a live shooter situation took a nation changing picture without flinching

Seems almost like he did what every other iconic photographer did?

While FFF should have won, there is a difference between taking random shots and getting a pic by accident, and knowing you are in the middle of a historic moment, and pointing your camera, trying to time things to get the best pic

Deserved the prize. It has quickly become an iconic picture.

The photo shot seen around the world.

A symbol of tenacity, courage and determination. Framed by blue sky and Old Glory it is this generation’s equivalent to the flag raising on Iwo Jims.

To photograph high-speed ballistics, you'll need a high-speed camera capable of capturing at least 10,000 frames per second (fps) and often much higher. The cost of such a camera can range from a few thousand dollars for a consumer-grade high-speed camera to well over $100,000 for a professional-grade model.

Camera Requirements:
High Frame Rate:
A high frame rate is crucial to capture the fast-moving projectile and associated events. For ballistics, frame rates of 10,000 fps and higher are often needed, depending on the projectile's velocity and the details you need to capture.

It's interesting that a photographer with the high end camera was available that day to capture that pic.......coincidence.

Breaking News!! Photographer has high end camera.

It’s a blurry streak, not a crystal clear frame by frame image of the bullet.
