Baseball America Top 25 Rankings

quote:

6. LSU

LSU had a chance to rise to No. 1. Instead, it stumbled in a hard-fought series loss to Texas A&M. The usually-reliable Zac Cowan surrendered a pair of key runs that made the difference in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader. The nightcap, however, belonged to junior Anthony Eyanson, who turned in a career-best complete game with 14 strikeouts to just one run allowed. A two-run Luis Hernandez homer gave LSU a 4-2 lead in the eighth inning of Sunday’s rubber match, but the bullpen couldn’t hold it. On top of Eyanson’s gem, southpaw Kade Anderson also impressed, allowing one run on three hits with 12 strikeouts across six innings. LSU returns home for a midweek tilt with Grambling State before hosting No. 3 Arkansas in a marquee SEC showdown.

Sucks a late inning loss yesterday caused us to stumble that much. Would’ve probably been #1 otherwise. Take 2/3 next couple weekends and path to Omaha goes through BR though

Impossible. This board assured me we’d be lucky to host a regional this year

Didnt expect them to jump to #1

You’re supposed to sweep Mizzou

This just doesn't make sense to me. Texas was 19-2 in the SEC before this weekend and they are still 19-5 after this weekend. That is 4 games better than UGA in conference. Texas was comfortably the number one team in the country, I just don't think one weekend should change that.

Ranking services just change things up sometimes to get clicks though.

If you get swept in a 3 game series, you should drop. Texas should not still be ranked #1.

I for one never said or thought it...but the season isn't over....a poor showing at home against arkansas could see us drop significantly. We will host regardless though..just maybe not top 8 depending on this coming weekend.

Maybe so, unless you're the clear number 1 in my mind (not saynig texas is after this weekend). Are we looking at the year as a whole? Or who's the best right now?

I don't agree with UGA being #1 is the main gripe

They were. Both away. They are a completely different team away from Foley. As seen this weekend. If Mizzou has any kind of pulse they take that series.

If you ignore an entire resume you’ll create terrible polls.

Imagine that. The national college baseball experts seem to respect our team & what they’ve done thus far a helluva lot more than most of the so called “fans” on tRant.

Sad but a lot of LSU Baseball fans are ignorant & suck-arse. Especially the ones on this site that freak out & start doomin & gloomin after EVERY SINGLE LOSS.

Exactly. The rankings in baseball are even more meaningless than rankings in basketball.

The only sport that they matter for is football.

UGA being #1 just gives them ratings and clicks. Reality, UGA is like 9 or 10

The lack of consensus at the top of the polls is interesting. It's really a toss up.
