When I Get Where I'm Going by Brad Paisley always makes me think about my pawpaw and I sometimes get a little choked up. This verse:

I'm gonna walk with my grandaddy
And he'll match me step for step
And I'll tell him how I've missed him
Every minute since he left
And then I'll hug his neck

Gets me!

This will be the last song played before they put me in the ground.

If this song doesn't make you tear up, probably none will.

Heartbreaking song where Glen Campbell sings about how he won't know or be able to feel what his wife is going to go through as his Alzheimer's disease progresses. He wrote and sang this song after his prognosis while he still could. Horrifying way to go knowing ahead of time how it will impact your loved ones.

Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore - Chris Stapleton (actually like the James King cover as much):

Today I followed daddy down church
And listened to the preacher read God's word
And we sang his favorite hymn, but daddy didn't make a sound
This afternoon we'll lay him in the ground
Daddy doesn't pray anymore
I guess he's finally walking with the Lord
He used to fold his hands and bow his head down to the floor
But daddy doesn't pray anymore

Elephant - Jason Isbell:

I've buried her a thousand times
Giving up my place in line
But I don't give a damn about that now
There's one thing that's real clear to me:
No one dies with dignity
We just try to ignore the elephant somehow

Yesterday When I Was Young - Roy Clark

There are so many songs in me that won't be sung
'Cause I feel the bitter taste of tears upon my tongue
And the time has come for me to pay for yesterday
When I was young
