I think we need to find a lineup and stick with it. It’s crazy to have guys like Fry and Brown platoon and just not see consistent AB’s. You won’t be consistent with 1/3rd of your lineup being a revolving door.

Frey and Brown are not in the same category….

Frey hitting 70 points better with double the homers and more RBI in fewer ABs

It’s not a slump. They are bad at the plate at this point.

I'm starting to think the same thing. It's past the slump thing, I believe. They just can't hit decent SEC pitching. I'm with everyone else, CJJ needs to hire a good hitting coach and let him handle it.

I like Milam and Stanfield much better at the 8-9 spots in the lineup. Jones leading off just reeks of desperation and too much tinkering. He’s overthinking it now and relying too much on the analytics instead of what was working best earlier in the season. All of this movement in the lineup is not producing a better result. Some of these guys are just going to have to fight through this difficulty against quality arms for us to have any chance of getting to Omaha

He’s desperate but there’s no way to add different hitters to the lineup. We are just really weak offensively and that won’t likely change until next year (hopefully)

Is it really a "slump" when its against every single conference opponent not named Missouri or Miss St?

It’s like he went out and recruited a bunch of slap hitters, but he wants them to have the approach of power hitters. You can’t have it both ways. If we have guys with speed and the ability to hit the ball on the ground, then we need to make it work to our strength.

JJ's tinkering and changing the batting order this weekend was very puzzling... he's getting into the heads of the players in a negative way! Muriel should have been leading off... Jones is definitely not a leadoff hitter imo!

It’s not a slump for most of the lineup that play everyday. Milam, Hernandez really haven’t done shite all year. Braswell is average. Pearson, Frey, Brown have been platooning, so you can’t put them in the category of slumping.

Dickinson, Jones, Curiel (just A&M series) Stansfield are slumping.

If Larson is healthy out his arse in, the guy can hit. We better hope we get a national seed because we can’t hit shite on the road.

The analytics crap with Jay is starting to really irritate the shite out of me. Just play your best damn players regardless and stop tinkering every freaking game. No wonder LSU can’t be consistent.

The thing is they are hitting. The scoring is not representative of the hitting. In game 1 LSU had 8 hits and 13 baserunners, and scored 1 run. I’m not saying 8 hits is some kind of monster offensive outing, but man we should be able to generate more than one run.

I was looking at some SEC rankings earlier and in conference play, LSU ranks:
Average: #3
Hits: #4
Runs: #8

We are also #8 in walks and #10 in HBP. I think part of it might be that they are swinging at too many pitches. Another issue is that the guys who have gone cold have been in key parts of the lineup. Jay moved things around a bunch this weekend but it didn’t really work out.

One thing I don’t understand is why Stanfield is still in the 9-hole. It was nice having production from that spot, but now Stanfield has the highest average and 2nd highest OBP on the team in conference play (among those with more than 20 SEC ABs)… batting 9th. Seems like it might be past time to move him up in the order.

you might wanna compare that to our opponent as well as Texas and Tennessee this past weekend. EVERYONE struck out alot.

Oh and while you're at it. Look how many baserunners were stranded by A&M? Our fans are frickin retarded. It happens to EVERYONE.
