Looking for someone who works on a lot of f250 super duty’s in Lafayette or breaux bridge area who will diagnose it honestly and accurately and fix it without excessive labor hours or rates. Is there such a place? Tyia

Probably Courtesy in Breaux Bridge & Hub City in “upper Lafayette” work on more F250’s than anyone else. I’d make sure whoever you choose warranties their work & has sufficient garage liability insurance, just in case…

The truck is 25 yrs old with 170k miles. I always suspect the dealership will find away to “encourage” me to trade it in for a new one. A private shop has more incentive to keep me driving what Iam .

I have a nephew (married to my niece) who has an automotive shop. He is honest and reasonable to me, but he does not specialize in Ford Trucks. He is who I take my FX4 to if I have engine issues. Matt's Automotive.

I also have a nephew (my wife's nephew) who is a mechanic at Courtesy. he is really good, but it's a dealership, so who you get is who you get.

If you need transmission work, I trust Jr's Quality Transmission in Carencro. I keep vehicles for a long time, so I try to make sure I find guys I trust.

Not sure if that helps, but that's what I got.

Recently brought my truck there for a couple of things (2017 F150) and he was fast and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

I am in Lafayette and looking for the same and have been looking with no luck. I almost dislike them as much as a stealership.

Speaking of

Do NOT take your truck to a dealership unless its warranty. They are not interested in fixing an issue. I took a f150 to hub city for a tapping sound that sounded like it was coming from the top of the motor, like a valve issue. They told me it was in the motor and I needed a new one for like 8k. It wound up being a cross-threaded spark plug....

From a computer search that seems to be the se one location of the Dave’s on pinhook by the oil center which has been in business for many years.

It was my outside salesmen’s truck that I took when he got a new one. It had been ticking a while so I was going to drive it anyway but decided to do some tune up stuff since it had some miles. Guy called me and said you are never gonna believe this

I will say the Dave’s on Pinhook was going to do some work on a Ford van that I have with a ticking sound coming from the top end. This one again sounds like it is coming from the heads and they felt the same. They quoted 3300 to do some work and after they did the work, the ticking was still there and they said they would not charge me for it. That was great, you don’t really see that, however, the ticking sound is a little bit worse and now they think it’s from inside the motor, so who the frick knows.

I haven’t had any experience with them but I’ve heard good things about Woodleys on Carmel. Been there forever.

I’ve always used Hub City Ford with satisfaction in case you reconsider a dealership.

Sorry Im late. If its a diesel than IDP Garage north of I-10 in laffy. They specialize in ford powerstrokes. Especially the older ones.
