I’ve heard that it’s actually a very beautiful place with lots pretty scenery and lots of good conservative people with family values.
I’ve also heard that the people there are pretty much all in shape and hardly anyone’s overweight. Have any of you spent a significant amount of time there before?

I guess the biggest downside would be the close proximity to Russia though.

I haven't lived there, but I've been. I don't know what I was expecting, but I really did love it. It's a beautiful country with very friendly people. I've wanted to go back, but haven't been able to make it yet.

I’ve been deployed there and heading back soon. Everything you said is generally correct plus it’s a cheap cost of living. Poland stayed with their national currency when they joined the EU so the dollar goes far against the zloty.

Oh I absolutely love Poland. It reminds me a first world country unlike LA. The women don’t frick around and will mess you up. Hardened since the days of being taken over by ruskies.

It's the Texas of Europe.

Beautiful country. Clean. Low crime. Conservative values. Diverse economy. Beautiful women.

Poland has resisted the mass immigration and woke politics of the rest of Europe.

Also, they're tired of being invaded and carved up. They will soon have the second biggest army in Europe, next to Ukraine.

They didn't charge the tanks but they did indeed fight them on horseback.

They charged infantry on horseback, like much of history. That's what they had.

If for retirement make sure you understand the tax rules.. Assuming you remain a US citizen, and different rules apply in what field you are working in
I'm general prepare for higher taxes than you would be charged in the US, but you can file for the credit on your US tax returns

It’s refreshing to hear their politicians talk about it.

At least they fought. They did the best with what they had. And they died in droves. Much respect. Not every country went down swinging
