RHCP sounded amazing at Jazzfest. That settles that.

Eddie Vedder seemed to be pissed about the sound. You could see him yelling at people, he tossed mics at people on stage.

I thought they were solid, but it sure wasn’t like seeing them 30+ years ago when they were transcendent live. Of course, I’m sure not the same as I was back then.

I think the sound has been sketch at the big stages this year. Took them like 4 songs to get it right for Joan Jett. Then she rocked Light of Day, so all was good.

Modern day sound guys don’t know to mix a show when it’s actual musicians playing real instruments.

I was on the right side, as you're facing the stage probably 100 yards away from the stage… And it was muffled at times… People 25 yards in front of me said it was really bad

My morning jacket has some similar issues today, but not plentiful the way this sounds. I was pointing out to my wife at different moments that certain instruments were way too low and it was messing up the wall of sound. Overall they did a great show and it sounded great. Just a few hiccups.

Sucks they couldn’t get it right for PJ

If the wind was blowing decently, that will blow sound away from where it's facing and sounds muffled until that wind dies down.

I was giving your son LSU baseball updates while y'all were at the concert. Should have been in College Station. But maybe not since the games didn't go too great.

Jazz Fest was awesome...first time attending in 30 years.

LSU doesn't do well in College Station these days...

It makes you wonder. When The Allman Brothers brothers played jazzfest in '96, to this day, it was the best sounding concert I've ever heard indoors or out.

When I opened the thread I was surprised to see every one shitting on the show. I thought it was great, though I was slightly fricked up. They played the hits and had plenty of energy. My wife and inlaws are major fans and came from out of state to watch so I was mainly there in support but didn't walk away from the show with a single negative. I did see Eddie throw the mic once or twice but thought that was normal show bantz.

As a non fanatic/first-timer, I thought that setlist would be typical...but from being surrounded by people who have seen them 20+ times, sounds like it was a particularly good show to catch.

I wish.

Actually it was '94. Same weekend as Phish. Killed too many brain cells that weekend.
