After 20 years out of school, I went back and finished my masters today. 5 years ago I never thought I'd do it and I finished it up today.

Congrats to you! Not many have the discipline to go back after that many years.

Question: why?

At 20 years into the work force, what does this get you? Is it just something you wanted to complete?

Or answer the question? Promotion? Pay increase? New job?

Don’t be a vagina. It’s a question.

In my case, I work for a public ed institution and my current role "prefers" a masters. Anything above me requires it.

So...I'm starting a Master of Public Admin this summer....

I've got 2 years between when my son graduates this summer and when my daughter will start college, so I'll pay for my own tuition in the meantime.

Congratulations !!!!

I graduated in 1998 and after retiring after 31yrs of working I will be going back for my masters in the near future.

Not that I have to but that I want my grandkids to see you never stop the grind and to prove to myself that I can still do whatever I put my mind to.

I'm in education. I've been coaching for over 20 years. Now I can get into administration if I want. Big pay bump in the education field going from teacher to administrator.

Completed mine in 2023 after being out of school for 25 years. It was a bucket list item for me. Congratulations! It is a huge accomplishment especially after being out of school for so long.
