it does us really no good to june 1st cut him vs cutting his arse straight up when season ends. frick letting him play ball somewhere else without us getting any compensation. sit his arse on the bench a year and let him waste a golden year.

We still have both of our post June 2 cuts as far as I know, so they could do this today if they wanted

If I was them, I would just put him on IR (or the bench if he says he's healthy) and hold off til next offseason to do a post 6/1 cut then. It will make our cap situation a lot easier to manage. Plus, frick him, let him wait another year to reach FA.

Saints need to put him on PUP and tell him to stay far away from this team. He is a sunk cost.

Anyone else find it funny that the raiders kept him away and now we’re wanting to do the same.

All for supposedly such a great guy.

No one knows. He hasn't even been examined by anyone here because he hasn't been here.

As long as he is cut before mid-March and is designated a post 6-01 cut

2025 cap hit: $20.5M
2026 cap hit: $59.3M when cut, drops to $19.2M on 6/2/26
2027 cap hit: $40.5M dead money

Talk about a f'ed contract and shitty situation Loomis put the team in with constantly kicking multiple cans down the road. Would not be surprised if this contract/situation causes the team to extend players like Cam and/or Demario because they will need to kick those voided years down the road a little longer; combined $33M in dead money for 2026.

Carr still has a 2025 cap hit of $20,462,000. If they cut him today, it would cost an extra $39,208,000 to pay Carr to go away. Trading him right now would cost an additional $37,953,000. If the Saints wait until after June 1 to move on, releasing Carr would not save any money in 2025 (they'd break even), while punting a cap hit of $59,670,000 in dead money onto the books for 2026. Trading him after June 1 would save just $1,255,000 this year while leaving behind that same $59.67 million hit on the 2026 salary cap.

$60 million dollar cap hit in 2026. frick that. Take away his uniform and make him stand on the sideline in his normal street clothes. I’m imagining a really tight V neck, jeans from buckle, and tons of eyeliner

Would expect they will put him on PUP and eventually IR. They will then cut him as a post June 1 cut next season.

You really want this guy in the Offensive locker room and team meeting?

I just prefer to admit the mistake and move on. Who really cares if he plays somewhere else? I'm concerned with the Saints best opportunity to move forward not trying to prevent Carr from moving forward.

My gut tells me he won't be on the field week one. Camp maybe. A qb somewhere will go down during camp so maybe a team will pay a little of his guaranteed and we pay the bulk and move on. I can dream too damn it.

HOW DARE YOU SIR!

After what happened to his wife, we should hand him $50m and give him the entire year off. That is how the rest of us working class are treated by our employers in a similar situation, right?

i ain't worried about derek fricking carr being in the building or not being in the building.

if there is an absolute zero advantage for the Saints, i'm not doing Carr any favor by his release cause he wants to be pissy here.
