ICBM Nuclear Missiles

Went down the rabbit hole on videos last night...Had no idea...Russia can send over a nuclear ICBM and hit DC in less than 24 minutes...There are some that can do it in less than 10 minutes that they are working on. We have ZERO way of defending ourselves against them. Nothing to shoot these out the sky effectively. Good Lord!

I don’t think they have any defense against them either.

The US Navy and Air Force can definitely shoot them out of the sky...

Her (Annie Jacobsen) book from last year, Nuclear War: A Scenario, was a fascinating and terrifying read.

The best defense is a good offense saying applies here.

I know you're being sarcastic, but that's the whole point.

India and Pakistan may be getting by ready to find out

don't get too caught up in that. You should be worrying about the Yellowstone super volcano.

There is no defense against the multiple stage rockets that go into orbit unless you shoot them down at launch which would be extremely difficult. We don’t really have an effective defense against most ballistic missiles if launched in groups. Less than a dozen or so, maybe? Even that is very debatable unfortunately

She is really good writer for stuff like this, very very well researched. I was most amazed to find out that there is no abort option once they are launched and how the missiles still use the stars for targeting orientation.

It boggles my mind how ignorant and totally oblivious many people are about the world we live in.
I’d imagine the vast majority of those with Ukraine flags in their profile are in the same boat as you were until last night.
