Shilo Sanders Fires Father Deion Sanders as Agent, Hires Drew Rosenhaus

After receiving plenty of attention throughout the pre-draft process, Shilo Sanders ultimately went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.
On Saturday afternoon, he stated on a livestream that he had to fire his father-turned-agent, Deion Sanders, because things weren’t working out. While it initially seemed like a joke, it turns out there was some truth to his comment: Sanders actually hired a new agent over the weekend, and it paid off, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed the safety as an undrafted free agent following the draft.
Coach Prime’s son decided not to let his father call the shots anymore as his pseudo-agent.
“Dad was our agent, but that hasn’t been working out too good, so today I had to sign with an agent,” Sanders said, laughing during his Twitch livestream on Day 3 of the NFL Draft, with Deion and his brother, Shedeur, also present.
The laugh led fans to believe it was just Shilo teasing his father. However, there was some truth to this, as Shilo actually hired Drew Rosenhaus as his agent over the weekend.
Rosenhaus officially welcomed Shilo into their agency family via social media on Saturday afternoon. After joining Rosenhaus Sports, Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey negotiated Shilo’s UDFA contract with the Buccaneers.

“And it paid off!”

That was probably always the plan, expected to get drafted high no matter what and then avoid the agent cut on the contract, then hand it over to an actual agent. Not like Deion is going to be setting them up with marketing deals mid season

If he stayed at South Carolina, he probably could’ve been developed enough to get drafted

Nah he plays slow as frick. He would've looked worse if he played in the SEC.

Shilo is not just bad he’s like 25

Why would Drew take on a client who didn’t get drafted? I thought agents like him and Rich, took on big clients that get them big money on their %.

Because it’s clear the other brother needs a legitimate agent, not his dad. He’s positioning himself.

Yeah I mean for Shaduer.

In fairness to Prime, did Shilo actually expect to be drafted regardless of who was representing him?
And anybody including Prime could have gotten him whatever basic UDFA deal that Rosenhaus got him.
EDIT: I’m not arguing that he should have kept his dad as his agent, just saying this is a weird way to frame it on Shilo’s part.

Rosenhaus probably had a smaller fee.

Is it possible that Shilo realized that Deion caused Shadeurs drop and didn’t want his small chance in the NFL to evaporate because of it?

I guess that’s possible, but Shedeur’s terrible interviews and overall entitled behavior was the catalyst for his drop. It wasn’t all Prime’s stupidity.
And Shilo’s demonstrated some pretty bad decision making with his assault and subsequent bankruptcy so I have my doubts that he’s “above the fray” here.

Right, I should have said that it wasn’t ALL Deion but he certainly didn’t help Shadeur. I wonder if Shilo went with another agent who could potentially spin that Shilo ‘isn’t’ Shadeur (personality wise I realize that they don’t play the same position).
Also you don’t think Shedeurs bombing of interviews weren’t because of Deion? Don’t you think an agent worth his weight would have guided his client better than to say what has been reported?

That’s not how it works.

Fair, not all that familiar with how that shakes out on the agent end

I think a grown man shouldn’t need an agent (father or not) to tell him “don’t be a douche when interviewing for an 8-figure job”.
And again, I’m not arguing that Shilo should have kept him on. I saying Prime probably didn’t prevent Shilo from getting drafted and framing it that way is weird. He’s a UDFA level prospect. Shedeur is another story.

Entire family is a colossal shitshow. It will only get worse.
