But the gun came from an ex sheriff deputy where the 20 year old shooter stole from his Mom who was an ex sheriff deputy.

sounds like the mom should have had it stored better.

But I go to a gym with a lot of cops and it would be very easy to get their weapon when they are working out. They don't have a good sense of gun control. Some don't even use the lockers for it.

That being said NO gun control laws (outside of total ban of guns) would have prevented this. But even if total ban of guns, knifes still kill people.

edit: Dang idiot move on my part not putting in the NO

I no nothing about what happened today. How would you write the law that would have prevented it?

Given the events of the last few weeks, maybe knife control is just as important.

You should at least show an ID to buy a gun. And maybe they should do a background check.

It shouldn’t be more difficult to vote than buy a machine gun.

That being said, you go ahead and turn in your guns. The rest of us will keep ours.

There are 500 million firearms (that they know of) in Civilian hands, a ban would still leave millions in circulation for decades, potentially.

Banning guns literally just hands that economy to the black market, and good citizens will no means of self-defense.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or serious. Hope it's the former.

Is long as our government is protected by arms, I’m protected with arms.

ALL gun laws are unconstitutional and were only created by people who hate you, and love themselves.

Carry on.

I agree. Tighter groupings are a must.

We agree for probably the first time ever.

Never talk about economy though. All else is good.

UK knife laws

quote:

The maximum penalty for an adult carrying a knife or weapon illegally is either 4 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both. You’ll get a prison sentence if you’re convicted of carrying a knife or weapon illegally more than once.

quote:

It’s also illegal to: carry most knives or any weapons in public without a ‘good reason’ sell most knives or any weapons to anyone under the age of 18 The exception to these 2 rules are folding pocketknives that:

have a cutting edge no longer than 3 inches

are not lock knives (they do not have a button, spring or catch that you have to use to fold the knife)

In Scotland, you’re allowed to sell 16 and 17 year olds cutlery and kitchen knives.

quote:

Good reasons for carrying a knife or weapon in public If the knife or weapon is not banned, some examples of ‘good reasons’ include using it:

for your work

for religious reasons, such as the kirpan some Sikhs carry as part of any national costume A court will decide if you’ve got a good reason to carry

a knife or a weapon if you’re charged with carrying it illegally.

There’s the problem right there. Anybody can walk into a Walmart or Target and buy an automatic rifle without papers and go to a parade and kill folks just minding their business.
